Forums - Website Topics - Updates from the Mod Team - Updated May 21, 2013 (because we're MS biased)

Also. The main reason with #1 is that it's excessive to the point of spam at this point.

Quite honestly, the people who were moderated unfairly are pretty much never the people who post on the forums about it. They're the people who follow the official channels.

It's generally people just trying to position themselves as a prosecuted fringe fanbase when in reality they're generally being banned specifically for things like calling people assholes and the like. People who want to pretend the website and some mods are biased against them... rather then the simple fact that they can't go without flaming or trolling someone.

For example, the last complaint i've received about a moderation was because of this post http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5360453

Which whatever, explaining moderation decisions in PMs by someone shouting at you that your a Sonyfanboy, or to the head mods is one thing...

but people posting complaints.... generally without post references and lying about the context on why they were banned in the first place... about some shit that is as simple as "Xbox sucks and is destroying gaming".

...come on now.

We don't need that spamming up the entire site.  Espeically when we have official channels and specfic threads for it.

The main problem is.... quite honestly, too many people are stuck too much in their own mindset... and complain about even blatant moderations.

Its a running joke from a few Months back, when the mods were being called biased towards certain groups of people just because 2-3 "major" members from a group were banned for... Well... Breaking the rules.

The Rules havent been updated yet have they?

I can get behind most, if not all, of this. Looks like you moderators have a lot more work now though.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The rules page hasn't been updated because it involves a long long process involving getting ahold of Ioi and him putting in in the quere with the other stuff etc.

Hence why Trash made the post here.  To keep the changes more current and accessable to the community.

What Kasz said.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Here's a suggestion for handling reported posts. It should at least go through 2 mods before it receives moderation, no matter how obvious or not the trolling/flaming/whatever may be. Even mods are subject to bias and letting their emotions get the best of them. Implementing this system will reduce the number of unfair/ridiculous bans on this site. It's more common than you would think.

Well Axum just gave me the opportunity of experiencing a 1st time ban

I would love a system that tells each individual how many times they've been reported each month or something like that

I genuinely want to know who reported me but i know i cant get that info
