Forums - General - Why don't we talk about Oxygen and Air?

Typical commencement speech from a liberal arts college.

Nothing practical was said; just a bunch of fluff and mystical inanity.

I wonder how long after every plant in the world goes extinct that we would still have oxygen? Does the Movie "The Road" even make sense? Since all the trees are gone?

the oceans produce at least 50% of the oxygen in the earths athmosphere

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

How the hell he managed to extend that one message over a 10 minute video I'll never know.

that was a really good speech. also, i don't think any of the above posters actually watched the video..

edit: except for bendude13 who obviously posted while i was posting.  :P

oxygen was a superstar in the 70ies when jm jarre was no.1 with his song oxygene.

in the past years carbondioxid turned into the new superstar with incredible abilities eg. 0.01%co2 can warm up planet earth up to 5 degrees.I
I made a test, filled a balloon with 300% co2(compressed) and another with usual air=i was really dissapointed.my co2 balloon wasn't working -refused to heat up.co2 isn't as great as people tell=overrated.I still try to find out why 0.01% can heat up planet earth 5% while 300% inside a balloon barely can.
now i turned away from oxygen,co2 and air to helium=less confusing, less politic and can make balloons fly.

i'll try not be ignorant.you can watch this video or simply search for the core message of tibetian bhuddhism(not zen)

but bhuddism will give you an empiric base with a fundamental concepts that is proven right and working since 2500years.

Yeah I thought the same thing haha Everybody is commenting about oxygen lol

I think the OP is trying to do an experiment, because the title has nothing to do with the video. LMAO!
