Forums - Nintendo - I think that the Wonderful 101's release date pretty much confirms that GTA5 won't be seen on WiiU, or at least not at the same time.

Even if GTA V comes to the Wii U the sales won't be that much of an issue for W101.

Both games target a completely different audience, the people that will get W101 were probably not going to get GTA V (at least not at launch) and vice versa. So in the end this won't change anything imo.

Killzone Mercenary's release date got moved back a week because it clashed with GTA 5.

Using OP's logic, this is a sign we may be getting GTA 5 on Vita?

Excellent news!

Ohmagosh, your avatar is so cute that it burns.  *-*

Honestly, though, I'd rather have The Wonderful 101 on the Vita than GTA 5.  Seems so perfect the the Vita's touchscreen.  Stupid Platinum.

I cannot wait for this game. Of any games that we've actually seen footage of, W101 remains my most anticipated game for any platform, save perhaps for ALttP2 for 3DS.

Did Killzone really get pushed back?

They should've pushed it forward.

Yeah it would have been weird to push Killzone back lol.

Good for Killzone, now it could get some decent 1st week sales.

they can. but it would be stupid to go head to head with GTA. it would basically kill the game. a rather recent example is bulletstorm on the PS3. released the same day as KZ3. go look at how bad bulletstorm sales were. so imagine going up against GTA instead of killzone?

@OP honestly, that release date is bad with or without GTA releasing on WiiU.  GTA will simply kill it. sad because the W101 does seem like a really fun game

But a small title going by the name "Rayman Legends" will be doing exactly the same thing. So it's possible, and as you say, the release is poor regardless of whether the Wii U gets the game.

release date of rayman legends is end of august in europe and few days later in usa. that's at least 2-3 weeks between it and gta.

The Wonderful 101 is a Nintendo TItle, their games tend to sell steady and great at launch just in Japan. I don't think GTA is that big in Japan as to opaque TW101. That is the difference with Rayman Legends.
Nintendo has never cared about western big titles releasing at the same time as their franchises.
"Leave Luck to Heaven", Nintendo believe in their games, they are confident. Even if those games don't brake records, they are good enough to profit well above production budget levels. As easy as that.
Besides Nintendo said, "you will have steady Nintendo first party released games when we start to do that". Yeap, I would like that to be right now but hey let them do what they have to.
