PS3 wins, XBox 360 loses. When the PS3 overtakes the XBox 360 it will finally prove the PS3 is more successful and popular than the XBox 360.

Yep 3DS just got its 2m back.
In all honesty, it's been a long time since I've thought of the PS3 as being in "3rd place", as it's been out-selling the 360 for quite awhile. The sales-rate differential is rather substantial. I don't know about anyone else, but it's hard for me to see one product consistently out-selling another and think of it as "last".
Because of that, this isn't going to mean a lot to me.
Still, it will be interesting to see if Sony acknowledges it.

Here we go....
Console sales are clear proof of determining the most successful system of the generation. Despite a year head start the XBox 360 has failed this generation in terms of console sales. PS3 has outsold the XBox 360 consistently since its launch in 2006 and the PS3s success is well deserved.
It means the PS3 largely and clearly wins for three reasons
- It was released 1 year after the Xbox 360
- In Asia few Xbox 360 are sold compared to PS3, in Europe more PS3 console are sold than the Xbox 360, but in North America which is the home country of the Xbox, it means the PS3 is also selling as much or more than the Xbox 360
- It also means there's been a gain in popularity, the PS3 will be remembered as the winner as it was continued to sell the most until the end, and the other winner will be the PS4 thanks to the gain in popularity.

So if Sony launched the ps4 at $1 sending Sony bankrupt yet it "sold" 300 million units, it would be the most successful console of all time......
Right... I understand you're probably excited but seriously, take it own a notch. Sony has achieved something good here, don't taint it with crazy notions and arguments. I'm going to leave it here and hope a fellow Sony fan steps in instead. You may listen to them.
There's a countdown? Gasp... who knew? Well I've always been a NintendoStation guy anyway. I always help a soft spot for the both of them. No offense to Xbox lovers but I see no reason in getting one if I have a PS. Say I'm wrong, say I'm missing out on Halo, whatever. I just was never compelled to get one. Great job Sony, and long live the Playstation.
thats sucks
the ps3 vs 360 sales war is what really brought me to this site
back then it was about playing defense stickin up for my console of choice it was what made me log in and post create threads and debate now with it about to end its more of a sad time like watching you favorite tv series end
that era in gaming will probably never be reproduced again nintendo being on top and sony and msf fans being very hostile towards each other
it also wont be the same on here that era (07-09) brought out alot of unique posters (some that will never be heard from again) and sales debate threads
even though ps3 wins in most sales as many knew back in 07, 360 really won the war it took over NA and parts of EU as well as grown globally

it will be sad actually, because these adjustments are long overdue for both the 360 and ps3. the ps3 probably even outsold the 360 by now and the vgchartz numbers really mean nothing. its been proven that their way of tracking isnt working anymore, and that the numbers are reliable. the only thing that this means is that we can hope for the vgchartz numbers to be a bit more representive of whats really going on.
