You realize that they are techically different franchises, don't you?   

MARIO is weird cuz i count most of it in its own franchise. 2d mario and 3d mario/ mario party/ mario sports/ mario kart/ paper mario/ mario+luigi= all different franchises

Also what about Wii Sports? It was a pack in game, but lots of games are pack ins and still are considered to be best games, like the original Mario bros., which was the best selling game of all time for a long time.

lol this list is messed up, no idea why handhelds werent included and have no idea what counts as Mario or Sonic

Im wondering if this is just western only because final fantasy surely should be on that list. 10m between 13 and 13-2 atleat 2 million from ff 7,8,9 on psn network. 3m from crisis core, 4 or so m from dissidia and dissidia 012 couple 10 m or so with all the ds and psp remakes. thats around 25 or so million

I'm surprised Sonic and WWE are on here yet no Gears? It's sold 20 million this gen. I doubt WWE has.

WWE is a yearly game along with the fact that there's been a few games that have been released that is outside of the annual releases that have been released. Along with the fact that almost all of the games have come out on ALL platforms. That could be the reason why its high up on the list unlike Gears of War which only has like 4 games and came out on the xbox360 only (with the exception of part 1 which is also on PC).

Indeed I calculated it earlier. With 34 SKUS it sold 32m.

I recall it selling about 21 million before it started to be bundled. I'm not sure why Wii Play isn't included as well in the list? It seems Ubisoft did some cherry picking to make their franchises higher on the list.

Also it's a shame Nintendo is the only Japanese representation on the list; Capcom, Konami, Namco and Square Enix are missing. =/
