Forums - Nintendo Discussion - GameCube Vs. Wii U (Month To Month In NA)

Damn, had no idea the N64 had been a beast at the end of 1997.

A turnaround for the Wii U is needed just to elevate it to GC performance, that´s the scary part.

Wow, in line with dreamcast, if worse, even the price cuts. Remenber me to never put a display in any controller from now on.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Holy shit! That is pretty damn crazy right there.

where's the rest of the chart for Wii U, do we not have the data?

Mm. How long before Nintendo and it's fandom recognize the Wii U has some very serious problems. It is an anti-Wii in every way.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

looking at those last two charts makes things look really dire, this Christmas is going to be pivotal for Wii U

N64 was a beast in North America, I kinda chuckle at how casually some people think the Wii U will just easily cruise to 50 million ... it's so far behind the N64 right now which only finished at 33 million.

Just to update this thread, GameCube sold 254k in October 2003 versus 68k for the Wii U in October 2014 (equivalent October from launch for both). Though Nintendo had dropped the GCN price by this point.

Still looks like Wii U will only continue to lose ground to the GameCube through this holiday as 2003 was the GameCube's best holiday season I believe.

U gonna update the OP?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

This is just sad

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine
