Forums - Gaming - a little late, but WOW

So i know I'm a little late, but just finished Tomb Raider for PS3 after buying it for $30 couple weeks ago, and must say, I'm much impressed, it exceed greatness beyond what I already imagined it to be.

Not only was the gameplay spot on, but the character development towards this "new" lara croft and the story behind it was very strong!

For me, the game makes a strong comparison to Uncharted, and while i love that series and admire how polished and ...well, perfectly developed the game is, i personally liked Tomb raider over any of the Uncharted games.

It's to bad the game couldn't make its way to wii-u, i certainly can see alot of benefits from the gamepad, but maybe someday.

I haven't beaten it yet...

Tomb Raider is an amazing game, totally an unexpected masterpiece for me. I enjoyed it far more than any game from that other action-adventure series people like to compare it to. It had much better gameplay, characters, story, OST and is just as if not more beautiful with an amazing amount of attention to detail. So polished, so gripping, just great. I can't wait for the sequel!

Still haven't played it yet but I will eventually.

Game of the Year so far. Really good effort.

I want this eventually, but is it worth waiting for GOTY edition now?

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Is it more like the old Tomb Raider or is it more like an uncharted clone? I ask because I'm genuinely interested.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

I really liked it as well, found it to be an amazing step up for the series.

Luckily I was fortunate enough ti play it on Ultimate settings with TressFX/Tessellation on PC and it made the experience that much more enjoyable. If this is the quality we will see in future Tomb Raiders then you can definitely could me in as a new fan of this series.

didnt play the old tomb raider games to compare them to them but compared to uncharted, and surprisingly the similarties are little. first of all, this game lets you upgrade your weapons, you can go hunting or go inside old "tombs" to find treasures that would give you XP that would upgrade your weapons and skills with. other than upgrading weapons this game has a darker theme to it, it isnt a movie-like action packed game, while it does have some set pieces that are really similiar to uncharted, it tries to focus more on survival and that fact that you want to get out of the island. also its semi open world, meaning you can fast travel to anyplace u were on the island to explore and go back to find tombs and stuff like that.

its a great game, i prefer uncharted more because i prefer action packed games more. but i really enjoyed tomb raider and its a great game. my advice, is to play it.

That actually sounds really awesome! I'm a big fan of survival and exploring-focused games. I'll wait for a steam sale.
