But I thought Japanese weren't excited for the Switch? A random survey posted on the internet told me so!
This is why I didn't put much stock in said survey (and don't put all that much in this one), surveys are not a very reliable means of gathering data unless you can verify that they did indeed get a truly representative vertical slice of the market. And even then they aren't that meaningful unless they are enormous in scope.

À succesful launch is as meaningful as surveys, just look at WiiU succesful launch.
People never learn, well only bé able to judge on thé long term After 6 months on thé market

Do launch games usually have bad ratios?

Well the Wii U launched in the Holidays which helps things. And the Wii U had a fairly successful launch, nothing mindblowing. What matters is to watch the lead up marketing and the follow through. In the Switch's case, the immediate followthrough in launch windo will be more important than usual as their luanch window will be March, April, May, and half of June, which is a higher spending season than the actual launch day. this is in contrast to other consoles where their launch window is half of November, December, January, and half of February, putting half of their launch window in a baren wasteland, giving them a chance to rest and prepare for the next round in Spring, then E3, and so on.
And my point was that people were getting worked up over the other survey saying a lot of people weren't interested and here we have another survey where nearly everyone is excited. I just found that contrast humorous. I will say the lead up here is far better than with the Wii U where only the most dedicated of gamers knew it was launching and what it was and even fewer knew its point and purpose. This is no guarantee of success, of course.
