Good day for robot wars vita

Around the Network

Overall a boring day but still surprised to see Super Robot Wars V getting the most points today (with Monster Hunter).
Good day Super Robot Wars V!

What a fantastic day for RE!

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Might be the continued decline of the market (I might be wrong), didn't the franchise make its way to other platforms as well?

In terms of Japan, the first two games were PSP titles which were remade for Vita; then the spin-off was on Vita.  This is the first time it's released for anything other than a Sony handheld in Japan.

For reference, all games in the franchise:

[PSP] DanganRonpa: Trigger Happy Havoc - 39,388 / 114,620
617. [PSP] Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc [PSP The Best] 13,192 / 143.630

(Total = 258,230)

739. [PSP] Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair 69,000 / 162.408

DanganRonpa 1-2 Reload 2013 Spike-Chunsoft 76,172 160,100

DanganRonpa: Another Episode 2014 Spike-Chunsoft 70,596 117,280

I think the franchise has definitely peaked, unless I'm way off with these ratios.

Both 1-2 Reload and Another episode had 55pts when they released, V3 has 48(+)pts with 17 days left.

haven't been here in a while, those RE sales seem terrible. RE5 and RE6 sold very good in Japan, this just looks like the collapse of another great franchise in sales in Japan. Hopefully not in quality, i'm looking forward to this game.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Given AE opened lower than 1-2 Reload with the same amount of points, and it's been 2+ years since AE released, we can assume Vita ratio is going to be even worse.  So let's hope PS4 picks up the slack.

Regardless, it's still not looking like it's gonna break 100k FW which it really should for the first new mainline entry in the franchise since... 2012?

RE is beasting

The best comparison for Resident Evil VII is, in my opinion, probably Resident Evil 4. It introduced a new gameplay system, changed the camera perspective, was more action-oriented compared to previous entries being more horror-oriented (which is the opposite for VII), was released on a similarly popular console (the Gamecube had around the same userbase as the PS4 at the same point in time) and was the first new entry of the series of that generation. It did 150k FW on the Gamecube. So to me that's the very lowest VII can do without being considered a decline for the series.
