Even taking into account FF decline and a better performance of Dragon Quest series, what most DQXI can do is outsell FFXV LTD by a little margin, so don't expect more than 1.2 million LTD for the PS4 version.

That just makes you show as if you had no idea how the japanese market behaves nowadays.

Ehhh, I wouldn't be surprised to see DQ11 double the sales of FF15.

Yeah but we haven't seen any new information on this game in a while. I don't think it will be releasing next year and by 2018 3ds will be a distant memory. it it does release on 3ds it will only be in Japan.

Thats pretty bad logic. HW might not be selling well i agree but saying 3ds be a distant memory is going too far. Its userbase wont be a distant memory.

DQ will sell more than FF, it was always the more wanted game in japan, and naturally when dq11 will be released the userbase will be bigger, so we will see for sure better numbers for DQ11

I think that will come down to the Pokemon/PoGo effect and Nintendo's approach with Switch.  If Nintendo keeps Switch and 3DS at arms length for a while and the Pokemon/PoGo effect is sizable and gives the 3DS some life for a while, the 3DS version will probably launch just fine.  If Nintendo goes straight into that one device for handheld and home console and the Pokemon effect is very short lived, then yeah, 3DS version will be in doubt.  Also, the sales stats for Dragon Age VII and VIII will be another factor.

While there was always going to be a downward trending result coming off of an MMO, I do think that people will want to see DQ in full glory again. I hope they continue to show it well.

Hope it too, must admit that the only dragon quest i played was part viii on ps2, but it was really a great experience, and i can understand what why this game is one of the most beloved games in japan
