Are you guys confusing Slim with PRO? I don't think Pro will affect Persona 5 sales at all. Even more, probably PS4 PRO will sell very bad in Japan (excluding launch week). I don't think japanese will care about this model when they never cared sbout high Techs, and even less at that price.

The Slim is another story, of course wil affect positively Persona 5 sales and will sell very well.

Agreed, Japan never cared for the ¥39,980 price point. And its even worse now that they decided to hike the price in Japan compared to other countries to ¥44,980.

While the Slim remains on par with other countries.

You are a fun ride, also BraLod, thanks for continuing to do persona comparisons, it is one of the few comparisons on here that actually gives you hope for the franchise's growth, unlike Tales, which did poorly.

I was not confusing the pro, maybe the user I was responding to was? I stated they are few months apart and will have little effect on each other.

I do think Slim will have positive effect, that is why my prediction is now 325,000-350.000 for Persona 5 total.

I don't know if I would still say that Tales of Berseria did poorly now that we've seen much better legs than Zestiria. It's going to end up around the same LTD as Zestiria (depending on digital sales) which did decent.

I think both continue the downward decline of the franchise, instead of the uptick necessary. I was not really impressed with Zestiria sales that much either mind you.  I do agree second week was better, which was impressive for Tales franchise, but still a lot of room to make up for, I think it was 430,000 total that is Tales of Zestiria.

I'm personally impressed it hasn't declined a lot more. I think they've been playing it safe for way too long now so it's only normal not to experience a growth because there would no reason for one.

I agree 100% here, wish they would get their heads out of their asses, and do something.

You are right Beastros San.

BEASTERIA has done well.  It's stopped the decline of the franchise. Decent sales and it's great to see!

You know you can do this every game just about that comparisons are not fair, if you even read my other posts in this thread, that ratios from ps2 era are different the ones right now. We factor stuff like this in this thread, if you actually follow the thread, but no you rather go about saying it is meaningless.

You also know that about everyone estimates this to do better than persona 4 did on launch, based on COMG of a month ago right? See my post to Dr. Vita for example this morning.

Here is the thing, comparisons still happen, because guess what, you can still take into factors into equations when comparing, otherwise this thread would be completely useless and we would have zero discussion on games. Guess what games get kickass bundles all the time, we still compare games.

You are now making stuff out of your ass.

"if you actually follow the thread"

Let me say, if YOU actually followed the thread you would know I actually follow this thread.

I was sure this was about P4 ratios but wanted to be sure since I did not want to make any assumptions. Personally, I think it's been obvious for a long time P5 will crush the sales of P4 8 years ago.

Like you mentioned the release of PS4 slim and the dry period of games after P5 significantly raise the selling potential of P5. Now if Sony would go all out and start things off with P5 PS4 slim bundle right out of the gate, both P5 and PS4 numbers would crush every expectation.

And last but not least, do you know I'm the one doing the Persona 5 vs MGSV comparison?

Yes comparison are very rarely fair but still some comparisons are more adequate than others. You don't have to tell me about PS2 ratios or act like I don't know. Anyone could have said a year ago that P4 vs P5 comparison was totally meaningless from sales perspective, the only conclusion you get from that comparison is that the sales ratios are not comparable, you do not get any sort of accuracy if you try to predict P5 sales looking at P4 COMG points. That's the only thing you need to "factor", going any further is pointless.

Why the hell you bring other peoples estimates into the discussion. Yes, I know pretty much everyone predicts P5 will sell better than P4 but that has nothing to do with me saying, P5 comparisons are now meaningless. From the moment the bundle was announced, it was clear the sales ratio will change completely and we don't have any comparison that would be even remotely fair. MGSV had the bundle but the situation is still completely different now, it just isn't comparable. There is a stark difference with regular bundles and a new cheaper console model releasing and this time with a highly anticipated P5.

You talk about factors and equations and then proceed to post these half-assed conclusions full of holes, to me your deductions seem like childs play.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

Here it is, my comparison which I guess I'm not consciously posting. Must be a split persona.
