Of course Sony would like to see God Eater expand but at the moment I think it would be more about keeping it alive. It is really complex situation, game series has already seen success on handhelds but there is no future for Vita, at the same time Vita is where the quaranteed short-term sales would be. I still think Japan could see GE3 port job for Vita but the main platform would be PS4. GE3 could have been in development for some time now and that is why I think Vita version could exist even taking into consideration Sony's recent comments about Vita first party.

I think you're getting confused here.  You keep saying Sony, but it's a Namco-Bandai IP.  What do Sony have to do with it?

This isn't a situation like Dragon Ball where the IP is bigger in the west than it is in Japan - God Eater is a Japan-focused IP.  Even on a healthier platform it's in a genre that's niche as hell in the west and - as proven by Toukiden - isn't an automatic success over here "just because" it's on PS4.

PS4 will have to start pulling in some serious IP transition for Vita for Bamco to be silly enough to develop it as a PS4 lead game, imo.  They'd be throwing sales down the drain otherwise.

True, somewhere along the road I associated GE as a Sony series and never questioned it, blindness.

Still GE is deeply associated with Sony platforms and 3DS/NX has Monster Hunter for competition. I would not be surprised if Sony was supporting Bamco to make GE3 for PS4 since Sony has been active with japanese 3rd party. Square-Enix is going PS4/Vita route at the moment with DQH2, DQB then there is Danganronpa 3 which is in a similar situation with GE and Bamco's own One Piece Burning Blood. I think it is possible.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

That's true, but setting that environment and starting the discussion can be done by Sony. They've assisted a ton of 3rd party titles, no reason why they couldn't help out with GE2.

It's a genre that hasn't sold especially well on their home consoles even when they've had the market leader by a country mile releasing on them (MHP3HD) down to selling outright horrible for something smaller (Toukiden Kiwami).

Would it really be worth the effort?  What would be the benefit for Sony?  How many consoles is it going to push in Japan?  In the west?  I'd imagine we're talking small numbers, because the IP will contract when making the switch across to home consoles.

Monster Hunter was deeply associated with Sony plaforms until Nintendo got it.  Don't see why the IP can't make the switch like that did.

See above for my thoughts on the rest of it.

The genre hasn't seen success yet on home consoles but for PS2 it was missing the online component/community, Wii had the wrong audience and WiiU has too small install base. I view it as either bury the series or try something. GE-series has potential for growth but I don't think it will happen playing safe and GE3 would be the perfect chance to give the series a one time opportunity to make it big, Vita+Japan being the safety-net.

Capcom had the pleasure of choosing quaranteed Nintendo install base with no real competition in the genre. God Eater with lesser success going Nintendo and against Monster Hunter is a huge risk.
