Wow COD. Although, lowest entry is just 15, it could've gained just 2 points from 14. Still, I'm amazed with the evolution of the franchise in Japan.

It's really been ever since Activision teamed up with a large Japanese publisher for the title that it's grown so much (Square Enix previously, now Sony).

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Ooh, Blops3 has arrived.
Can't say I'm disappointed that there's no Wii U version for Japan, at least, seeing as Splatoon is on track to reach 1 million by year-end.

Can't that 3DS idol game leave already? It's not getting localized anyway, no matter how strong my carnal desires are for those idols.

What has Splatoon to do with Call of Duty?

Same genre, different approaches.

Think of Splatoon as an entry-level shooter while CoD has a bit of a wall to it for newcomers (well, relative to Splatoon). Or, Splatoon is the gateway to shooters for many in Japan.

Given how the last CoD appreared on COMG earlier and with more points than BO3, I think it's fair to say Splatoon hasn't contributed at all to CoD's appearance.

That's not what he was saying.

He said it could be a gateway for Wii U owners.

Or that's the most reasonable thing he could say.

Oh drat, I though Dr. Vita was replying to bofferbrauer. Scroll up a bit and you'll see Bofferbrauer's post and my post will probably make a lot more sense to you.

And different audience

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Actually, different genre :P .  Third Person Shooters are different from First Person Shooters.  And I'm not sure I would call Splatoon entry level.  It's aesthetically and tonally more "accessible" I suppose.  But it's not any more or less accessible than CoD mechanically honestly (have played numerous CoDs and Halos), which has simpler mechanics in many aspects and has been manufactured to service as many people in as many age groups as possible.  I would make the argument Splatoon even has some tricks to it that make it a touch more complicated when playing ranked since the game's changes to movement, territory control, and even a touch of platforming can test you in more ways than just twitch targeting and knowing your routes.
