I wonder if Japan's going to get the 2DS soon.

I makes no sense that Japan doesn't get it, when it has such a strong kid culture. What I imagine is that they don't have enough 2DS's for the holiday season this year worldwide and are focusing on where penetration was been low so far like EU and US. Along with Pokemon and the lower price point, they hope that this drastically increases sales in those regions among kids.

As for Japan, they have Pokemon AND Monster Hunter. 2DS can wait a while. I suspect it'll come to Japan eventually, but they don't have the supply nor the necessity to do this year.

I assume the 2DS is coming out in Japan the same day it's coming out everywhere else to coincide with the simultaneous global launch of Pokémon X & Y.
