I think so far for next year we have Mario Golf, Yoshi's Island, and (probably) Super Smash Bros confirmed globally. In the West, we get Bravely Default, Layton, and Layton vs AA. I'm pretty sure that's more than we knew about the 3DS's 2013 lineup this time last year.

Apart from those, I expect to see Kirby make his first true 3DS appearance, whatever form that may take. Other franchises like Advance Wars are possible. Another Pokémon spinoff or remake/sequel/etc is probable. Metroid isn't out of the question. And we know that Monolith Soft is working on a 3DS game. That's just the Nintendo side of things, though; there's no telling what third parties may bring, especially Level-5.

I think Pokemon Z and Monster Hunter 4G for fall 2014 are very likely. Smash Bros will also probably be pretty big.

We might not see too many mega franchises release in Japan for the 3DS in 2014, but if Pokemon and MH4 do well, that might bring up the install base, and might motivate Square Enix into making a Dragon Quest XI for 2015. Or maybe 3DS will see a good FF spinoff, maybe a sequel to FFVI or something out of the blue.

But wow, all the big franchises on the DS will have a 3DS iteration now. Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Mario Party, New Super Mario Bros, Nintendogs, Brain Age, etc...Hopefully they will have legs, and hopefully Nintendo releases some new IP's. I remember when they introduced Golden Sun, and started porting over the Gameboy Wars/Fire Emblem games. GBA blew my mind! So while not big, I'm hoping for a Metroid game, Advance Wars, and something new.

I doubt anything next year will be as big Pokemon or Monster Hunter, but there will be numerous major games. Smash Bros., Yoshi's Island, Mario Golf, a likely Dragon Quest game and others, will be million ssellers. Then you have things like Monoliths Titlewhich should do well.

But more importantly,at this time last year, we had no idea about Pokemon, Mario and Luigi, Zelda Link Between Worlds etc this time last year. So I wouldn't be too concerned about next year!

I don't think many people are expecting it to be bigger than the PSP version (in b4 Nintendo platforms are underrepresented while I ignore that it's really the type of game rather the platform its on).
