The core gameplay remains the same. The differences in Lost Song compared to Hollow Fragment is that you can fly, there is aerial combat, the combat is faster paced, magic is easier to use, and the UI is more inline with anime ... As for why it's selling so well, the SAO franchise is huge in Japan ... |
I was more wondering how the second outsold the first on a much smaller userbase, and the third, despite being the third game in a series and being available on a new platform, seems to be keeping up. It's impressive, just wish I could figure out why. I know it's big, but it seems like it's getting bigger, despite the anime being less relevant.

This will be a ps4 game eventually so another title that will be boosting it in future. Great to see the ps3 version do so good they won't be worried about its shift to next gen.
Glad that Bloodborne could pass my prediction of 150pts.
Disgaea though is quite disappointing, NIS might make more money from the western release! I hope COMG is just under representing it.

@Bold Uhh, I am reading this right ? Your saying that the second game released on a SMALLER userbase ?! Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't console sales supposed to increase overtime ?
Did you ever wonder why the games themselves are selling ? Believe it or not but people buy it for the content! Everyone that I came by likes SAO for it's characters, settings, and story! Just getting the game to have the same characters and settings along with the appropriate game mechanics is enough to warrant drawing in a fair portion of the fanbase who are already gamers to buy the game in droves ...
The anime is less relevant ?! The anime was the reason why it became the top selling light novel in Japan for 2012 and 2013. It got second place in 2014 which still means that it has a whole lot of popularity left but whoever came up with that conclusion has a faulty reasoning behind it ...
Good weekend for Bloodborne. Set for a good opening week
