No it doesnt need it but sales would have been boosted had it had a port.

DkS2 should have had a PS4/XBO port then. So much lost potential right there. Also doesnt help that Miyazaki wasnt behind it and a lot of users say its the worst in the series |
It was definitely the worse, but the series was on a strong uptick. Expecting the bolstered popularity to push it past Demon's Souls.

Would anyone even buy it? The game wasn't exactly... living up to expectations. I mean, the game managed to flail behind its predecessors despite the fact that it had the built up hype of its predecessors.
Heck, I don't even think Bloodborne is going to actually do all that much for the PS4. This is a pretty dang niche genre.

Well with Miyazaki back at the helm I can see Bloodborne doing quite well. It will take the same word of mouth that DS had to keep it going though because of the name change making it less recognisable to more casual gamers... yes some of them do play the Souls games =P
Imo Bloodborne will outpreform The Order 1886

You think people are getting burnt out on those type of action RPGs? Dark Souls 2 was under Demon's Souls.... |
What? It's not that low. Media Create numbers from Top 1000 2013 and other years. Except Dark Souls II, I used Famitsu, cause MC Top 1000 2014 is not available yet.
[PS3] Demon's Souls (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2009.02.05} (¥7.800) - 170.512
[PS3] Demon's Souls (PlayStation 3 the Best) (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2010.02.25} (¥3.800) - 212.780
[PS3] Dark Souls (From Software) {2011.09.22} (¥7.800) - 361.829
[PS3] Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (From Software) {2012.10.25} (¥4.800) - 140.811
[PS3] Dark Souls II (From Software) {2014.03.13} (¥7.800) - 335.226
[360] Dark Souls II (From Software) {2014.03.13} (¥7.800) - 8.417
*Note: the first Dark Souls was a PS3 exclusive in Japan
Dark Souls II can still sell a little more this year and reach 350k between both versions. That's not a drop comparing Demon Souls (380k) and Dark Souls (360k).
I expect Bloodborne selling around 350k too. And that's not niche -.- lol
Media Create Annual Archive (Spanish version)
A good day for Smash, Monster Hunter and Destiny! The rest? Ehh..... :S

Tsutaya's weekly report
- Toukiden is on top this week as it was expected. There's the impression it had a slow start, though. But Vita Hardware is in a good shape now, so legs are expected.
- Persona 4: Arena is second. These days fighting games are not selling well, so the fact that Persona is selling well is special.
- Super Robot Taisen OG Saga and specially Medarot 8 have been stock limited.
Next week:
- Dragon Quest X for 3DS is expected to top the charts. Pre-orders are favorable.
- The reputation for TitanFall was high and it's included as a download version with One, so it could promote a dash start.
- Pre-orders for Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5 are good.

Not a bad update.
Also interesting report Krezzy!
Just read this article about Xbox One preorders:
http://www.gamepur.com/news/16053-rumor-xbox-one-pre-orders-pretty-much-dont-exist-japan-no-red-dead.html
Is this why we don't see any games on the charts?
