Forums - Nintendo - Wii U CPU + GPU clock speeds increased? Is it even possible?

talvez como você tenha dito isso é por causa da temperatura do Brasil. não vi relatos de aquecimento por aí, então deve aguentar um overclock de boa.

Yeap... I'm not saying the cooler can't handle a overclock to 1.6-1.8Ghz but 3.2Ghz? No way.

I saw related in Australia the Wii U get a lot hot too.

that's th point, we're not expert engineers, so it might be able to or not. again, I'm not saying i completely believe the rumour but what you are saying isn't enough  to disprove it.

i was testing if he's really brazilian. I said the wii u getting whot might be because he's in brazil and i haven't seen reports of wii u overheating in other countrys. so wii u should handle this overclock.

Você realmente acha que não sou brasileiro? kkkkkkkkkk.

I think we can say that things are getting hotter in the Wii U situation.
Besides that, that raise is hardly the truth, it is way too much.
Gosh at those PS360 coolers. They are freaking monstrosities, Especially the 2nd to last one.

lol I just ordered the very last one for the PS3 Slim on ebay for 13 bucks(last one at that price :P) after getting that Wii U one earlier.

Well, at least it is not the one above it. (:

At least I don't need any coolers (at the moment at least). But when I get my Wii U, I will have too see about that. Luckily by the time I get one it will be Winter, so no need for coolers by then.

I don't need them since I live around Seattle lol, but it's always nice to have, I modded my 360 and added shit to it as well when I still had it since it was a major issue at the time too, you just never know.

I get what you mean. It's better to be safe than sorry.

While its possible to up the clock speeds through updates... that big of a CPU jump screams that its false. There's no way Nintendo would have purposefully underclocked it so much just to do this later. They don't even publish these types of tech info anymore and therefore would gain nothing from doing such a design. Plus if at 1.x they were hitting 32w of peak of 45w... then a 3.x would surely push beyond what it could do.

I'd wait for better sources.

While I agree that Nintendo could not increase the clock rate by anywhere near that much, the 32w usage is for the whole system, not just the processor.  In theory, if the processor is that efficient, you could nearly double the speed with the extra power left over.  As I've said in another post though, it wold not be like Nintendo at all to do this.

Stop hating and start playing.

I will say that BLOPS2 and batman have a lot less frame rate issues(if any) since the update, and there have been no patches for those games so i assume it's from the system update.

If this ends up being true, then I'm excited to see what the summer update does.

There is no reason ro not be nice! Also, almost always it's just specs or general technical discussions, no need to exaggerate :)

And you know a lot of very nice chicks! I have to travel to Brazil, too, in the next years while I am still fresh and good-looking :D

Considering the GPU then CPU are the biggest factors on its power draw... I'd think such a jump in CPU and then a smaller one in GPU would be too much as they don't want to be running at peak power... even if it only pushed to say 38w overall or 40w... that seems too high for normal usage.

Fake.

This is such a ridiculous rumor I can't believe you even made a thread about it.
