Forums - Nintendo - Capcom Describes Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate as a "Smash Hit"

Dat spin! How about they actually publish those smash it sales?

Capcom's not afraid to call a bad seller a bad seller. New dmc doubled the numbers they're feeding here, and they were pretty unequivocal about saying it did poorly.

Anyways, now Wii U critics have one less argument to chuck... oh who am i kidding...

"In addition, "DmC Devil May Cry" (for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) enjoyed stable popularity in overseas markets and posted solid sales."  In the same paragraph as the comment on Monster Hunter.  They seem to be running damage control all over.  Same situation with them hyping domestic sales for Dragon's Dogma while ignoring the performance in the west.

I want proof lol

Can't be true unless doom or anonymous source.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Did you make even yourself laugh as you typed this?

Fair enough, i didn't see the quote yakuzaice pointed out, where they justified dmc.

Although at the same time, i can't imagine them actually being mad at Tri U's sales, they made their money on G in Japan alone, no doubt, and this merely ports G. They're not even running servers this time (all runs on Nintendo Network now), so aside from patches, it's basically pure profit.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well, I doubt they'd use the phrase "Smash hit" if sales were in fact bad. So it should be safe to assume that sales met expectations at the very least.

Good to hear it did well.

Appetizers are over, now on to the main course which is Monster Hunter 4.

EDIT:

*Looks around*

Is... is this real? *laughs* Come on guys. Whew.

Great news, I'm about to order the Wii U SKU of 3G Ultimate myself as it goes.

You can tell by the comments in Miiverse that plenty of people are buying titles digitally. Can't understand it myself because it works out a lot cheaper buying hard copies plus you can trade them in when you've finished with them.

Ah... so it sold well digitally. Interesting, as people dont seem to expect that of nintendo systems.

people is assuming NIntendo gamers are kids, don't like to play online, don't like third party, among others.

that has to stop, but it won't because people like to lie to themselves.

What other proof you need than the Capcom representatives doing the talk? If they weren't happy with the sales they would have said the same thing they did with RE 6 or simple just ignore mentioning the game.

VGChartz's inability to track digital sales is frustrating, I'd love to know how well games like this are doing when digital copies are included. I suspect the picture is much less gloomy than packaged figures makes it appear.

Oh, and I'd buy Monster Hunter 4 on Wii U in a heartbeat. Hell, as someone who's never owned a portable and doesn't care for them, I might buy a 3DS just to play it if it doesn't get a Wii U port, I loved Tri some damn much...

Even if Capcom releases Monster Hunter 4 for Wii U, I'll probably wait for Monster Hunter Quad Freedom G Unite, Dawg I Heard You Like Monsters Edition.
