Norse mythology with new hero who maybe shares a similar tale (tricked by a God) but not too similar. Egyptian would work too but I think Norse has some really cool character and is highly marketable after the 2 Thor movies and Avengers that will have been out by the time the next God of War is made. With Infamous Second Son and Killzone Mercenary on PS4 already and the series' storyline and Kratos being a bit rung out at this point (I don't see where there are any more gaps to fill and continuing after 3 would REALLY be a stretch and just feel stupid, but maybe SSM can make it work).

Don't mix norse mythology and avengers :P the only thing they took were names, they have very little else in common to the actual mythos.

oh I know but just throw out the names in advertising and you'll get a few sales and get these guys who love the Marvel movies (what initially got me into it) into the REAL mythology and let them enjoy this epic franchise.  I'm saying it could help them reach a new audience as well as having their loyal followers.

I couldn't care less what microsoft and their xbox or whatever division is up to, that's why I don't enter threads in microsoft discussion, not posting there, and especially not complaining why there is nothing about Playstation.

You could follow suit.

OT: As other's have said they are already making a new IP with stig's team and will have a GoW team too.  GoW with a new mythology and character would be best, but I would still buy any GoW they make even if it's still with Kratos.

ok, nobody asked you about your opinion on what Microsoft is doing. OP asked a question about gow and I answered it. You got a problem or something?

Uhm, because I have played GoW and have a ps3, unlike you it sounds like.  I'm not taking this any further.

Yes. God of War 3 ended with Kratos still being alive. There's more to come. I'd love to see them move to more of an open world style though.

And abandon one of the most successful IP on Playstation? No chance. We're getting a new God of War game. It's not a questin of "if" its a question of "when".
SSM is smart. They'll find a way to cotinue the story.

No I wouldn't call this a problem, my concern just is, and that's why I gave the microsoft example, that posting in a thread, like you said, that doesn't concern you in any way is pretty pointless and in my opinion is spam, not adding anything to the discussion in the topic given, that's all. Noone forces you to comment in a thread that doesn't concern you. But let's cut this off-topic discussion here I have nothing to add.

Yes, but they should try something truly different with it. Move from Greek mythology to say Roman, i don't know. It might end different. But these early civilizations most likely had god of wars, not just the Greeks
