they need a new character and a different mythology. If they did that, then I would welcome it.

I think this is what they'll do since Infamous and Killzone have taken this direction on the new console and Kratos and Greek have been more worn out than either of those settings or protagonists.

Definitely not.

I wouldn't mind a new IP in the same genre, though.

I'd love to see a Vita version, too, though--preferably set BEFORE his oath to Ares. Why they didn't do that with GOW;Ascension, I have no idea.

Yeah, I'd have LOVED this, I mean, I've not played Ascension yet, but it's set after his oath to Ares... if they were doing a prequel, it'd feel so much better go to back before that, but nope...

If they ever release a Vita game showing the true origins of him, I'd definitely buy it

after seeing what they did with Ghost of Sparta on PSP I feel like a Vita GoW would make people drool.  Same with GTA.  The PSP games are so impressive with what the studio was able to do, but Vita is a lot more powerful so the mind boggles what these franchises would look like.

I haven't played the PSP versions or the new Ascension, but 1-3 were good.

However, the story main story has been told, stop creating new things to inject into the story of Kratos and stretching it thinner and thinner. Maybe a new setting and characters.

Oh yeah definitely, it'd get me excited that's for sure... and I'm sure they could squeeze out ONE more story of him... as a Spartan General, before Areas interfered ofcourse, lol :P But yeah, the game on a Vita would look very impressive!

The prospect of seeing what they could do with the Vita's hardware is drool-worthy, indeed. I couldn't believe what Ready at Dawn was able to do with the PSP games.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

They should give the God of War franchise the Bioshock Infinite treatment: keep the gameplay style and type of story (man vs Gods) while changing the characters and setting. I'm frankly starting to get tired of Kratos.

Signature goes here!

I don't think they should continue Kratos's story, but they can resuse the IP to introduce a new series of games using the same style of gameplay.

A bit like Bioshock Infinite or Final Fantasy. They can keep making new games using the same style but using characters in a new continuity.

I think that would be good. Personally, for me no more Kratos. The story has become beyond boring, and its time for a change.

Santa Monica is a studio I think should have two games in the pipeline something like 'God of War Infinite' and a new IP.

new ip den gowIV

New mythology, new characters.

Of course.

SM is working in both GoW IV and new IP... Sony increased the size of all studios to work in two titles at the same time (one old successful franchise and another new IP).

I think that is a badass move coming from Sony.
