Forums - General - How much is a social life worth to you?

I dont understand peoples need for a social life. I don't feel that it's necessary -I have no friends and because I am self employed don't interact with people other than cashiers and it doesn't bother me at all. So I wouldn't put much if any value on social life at all, money IMO is much more important as it provides the material means to an interesting life.

Can't put an exact figure on it but 200k a year would be enough for me to reduce my social life to the bare minimum and 500k would probably be enough to completly give up my social life.

Priceless. My social life is not the most impressive one but I always enjoy hanging with friends, eating dinner, watching movies, planning trips. As much as I love gaming, my social life is very important.

You have to pay to make me have one. People who you aren't completely opened up to are so much of a time/energy sink to keep happy. For example pretending to like alcohol.

This, very much this! I enjoy whatever little social life I have but whenever any kind of a relationship becomes obligation, in any way, I more or less stop caring. Whatever social contacts I have, I have because they add something to my life - they make it better. If that's not the case, it's not worth the effort. Or, to put a monetary value, it's worth $0. As for those proper relationships, I can't put a price on them - they're very much priceless to me. Not too many of those, though... For the most part, I do just fine by myself.
