Tangami is coming to Wii U as well as iOS.  Why is this relevant?  Because Wii U is the only console that can have easy ports of games like this.  The touch screen makes playing tablet games natural.  People say that the Gamepad doesn't have the casual hook that the wiimote did.  I beg to differ.  If a pile of these easy-to-develope and play games flood the Wii U eshop in time, the system will be very appealing to casual gamers.  The ability to play casual touch games AND MarioKart and MarioBros is potentially a gold mine for casual gamers.

I saw this earlier. Looks like a very interesting game, and if the Wii U can get a load of these indie games, then that'll be a plus.

This is a game from former Rare developers? I'll have to keep an eye on it.

The best part of the interview, for me, was this: "From what I can tell Nintendo are trying to be supportive of indies and trying to make sure that more and more independent developers get the chance to develop for the Wii U."

If Nintendo is going to miss out on a lot of the big-budget multiplatform games over the next few years, maybe it can help fill the gaps with a combination of first-party software and smaller, independent titles.

Yep. WiiU has a ton of potential in the eShop arena. Pretty much ANY mobile game could be ported over. Once the system hits the 10m userbase, I bet we'll see a bunch of iOS and Android devs putting games on it.

Personally, I think this game would be a better fit on 3DS considering the popup stuff. But, Nintendo has specific tools that ease the porting of iOS games to Wii U. I could see why people would think that the eShop will be flooded will a lot of the same crap the iOS store has .....but the barrier for entry is exponentially higher on Wii U than iOS. $99 and the proper skills, versus 3-5 thousand dollars and the peoper skills. Also, Apple seems to just make sure the game isn't 100% broken or violates copyrights (even missing the mark there sometimes), while Nintendo still has to approve the game themselves. I doubt they will let completely broken, terrible, copyright infringing apps on the eShop.

Although it would be funny to see one of the blatant Nintendo ripoffs on their own console.

Ah, I remember this title. It's visually interesting but I'm not sure it's something I'd like to play.
