| TheLastStarFighter said: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/04/exclusive_tengami_confirmed_for_wii_u_release Tangami is coming to Wii U as well as iOS. Why is this relevant? Because Wii U is the only console that can have easy ports of games like this. The touch screen makes playing tablet games natural. People say that the Gamepad doesn't have the casual hook that the wiimote did. I beg to differ. If a pile of these easy-to-develope and play games flood the Wii U eshop in time, the system will be very appealing to casual gamers. The ability to play casual touch games AND MarioKart and MarioBros is potentially a gold mine for casual gamers. |
Personally, I think this game would be a better fit on 3DS considering the popup stuff. But, Nintendo has specific tools that ease the porting of iOS games to Wii U. I could see why people would think that the eShop will be flooded will a lot of the same crap the iOS store has .....but the barrier for entry is exponentially higher on Wii U than iOS. $99 and the proper skills, versus 3-5 thousand dollars and the peoper skills. Also, Apple seems to just make sure the game isn't 100% broken or violates copyrights (even missing the mark there sometimes), while Nintendo still has to approve the game themselves. I doubt they will let completely broken, terrible, copyright infringing apps on the eShop.
