Xbox Fusion domains registered at Microsoft, suggests name – rumour

Xbox Fusion could be the name of Microsoft’s next-gen console, according to a slew of domain registrations that have popped up in the wild. The name has been rumoured before apparently, but the domains have only been unearthed recently.

NeoGAF has pointed to a Fusible article that spools off the domain names – XboxFusion.com, XboxFusion.info, XboxFusion.biz, XboxFusion.de, XboxFusion.co.uk – to name a few.

Microsoft owns them all, according to Fusible’s search on WHOIS, and the company also owns XboxNext.com and XboxGold.com.

So there are three possible names now – Xbox Next, Xbox Gold and Xbox Fusion. Which do you prefer?

Either way, we’ll know once Microsoft reveals its new console on May 21st.

makes more sense than Xbox infinite/y to me as they seem to fuse dvr/cable box and game console into one

Well that would make it easy to place in on our dragon ball power level chart..

well they should use a word which is common in other languages and not only in english and fusion is also common in german, french, spanish... so yeah, would make sense to use such a word. but i think it sounds weird in german, can't imagine to say "schon von der neuen xbox fusion gehört?" lol

don't worry.. the rest of the world also finds german wierd when saying english words

Okay, some of you might think I'm talking shit here but I wrote a post many years ago where I said I dreamt that the next xbox would be called "Fusion"!

I also dreamed it would feature alternate SKU packs where one could actually fit slightly better RAM and GPU but that's plain silly. The name though, it stuck with me, I still remember thinking about it.

Wasn't that a name that they were considering for the 360?

If rumors are true of the next console trying to blur the line between cable TV and gaming device then this name is great and makes perfect sense.
