Forums - Sales - Will the PS4 outsell the XBox One and WiiU?

Oh....the funny's are going to start.

I recall seeing a screenshot where Sony predicts that the PS4 and Nextbox will both sell 85-95 million units or so and Wii U (based off current trends) will sell 65 million. LOL.

I will say, I have no clue who's going to win, but I hope Microsoft looses.

I can see the Ps4 regaining the console throne if Sony plays their cards right and focus on games this time around. That is just me though.

Im going 2 keep my mouth shut until I see what Microsoft brings 2 the table on the 21st.

Seriously, I would be surprised if they actually show some dedication to making games.

I would like to take that bet.  I am pretty sure you will see a strong start from MS for the nextbox.  The key would be will that start continue for the life of the console.  In the last 2 years MS has invested in some gaming studios.  Reason would suggest that if these studios did not show anything on the 360 then they must have something for the nextbox.  I would not be surprised if MS also purchase some IPs from third party developers like Epic to fill out their launch window.

I am glad you are taking the bet  because no one has proven me wrong about Microsoft in the last three years. I have hope, but its not like I dont have a rational guard up in thinking they care about games. I would be happy to be wrong about Microsoft.

I kind of see it a little different.  Bandwidth is always an issue when you try to promote a product.  MS started strong with the 360 but they relied on a lot of 3rd party companies for their exclusives and most of those went multiplat.  There are even rumors of Epic going multiplat with Gears which probably isn't something MS is interested in hearing.  So what do you do when some of your most promising exclusives goes, you start to build your own studios to fill in the gap.  So for the last 3 years this is exactly what MS has done.  Build such studios do take time, resources and the right people.  With these new studios, it coming along at this particular time means MS had to make a decision.  Have those studios produce for the curernt hardware or have them product for your next.  It seems MS decided to go with option 2.

Yeah yeah yeah, get to the bet already...

What are the stakes? I'm intrigued as to why STAGE is thinking MS aren't making games when a simple Google search can say otherwise.

Second hand games will not be playable on the NextBox and it will be mandatory to be connected online with the NextBox. PS4 will allow second hand games to be playable on its system and it will not mandatory to be connected online to play the PS4.

Why? And what do you  mean by "looses"? They quit gaming-business because the sales are too low? They are only 10k units behind PS4? They are ending 3rd, even outnumbered by Wiiu?

What? You are selecting only the bad rumors regarding NextBox and compare them to PS4? Wow, that's also a way to justify an opinion.

Actually I kinda hope Microsoft lose to, we wouln't really be losing anything if they did and Sony and Nintendo could have more market share. The extra money they made would probably come back to us in some kind of positive way, i.e more first party, as they fought each other FOREVER.

I hope Microsoft comes in a distant 3rd for sales. Why? I really hate the company they've become post 2009.

What do you mean even outnumbered by Wii U? LOL I think Wii U has the best shot of finishing 1st, despite its slow start, but I unno. I think the big 3 will be a lot closer together this gen then last, and 100-85-85 or so, is pretty close.

I'd prefer if WiiU outsold PS4, which outsold 720 by a bracket of about 120-110-60, but that probably won't happen.

----

If I had to bet, 100-95-90 is what I'm thinking, and you can guess the order.

lol. There is no reason to believe the PS4 will do well at this point.

It is the most powerful, so were PS3 (currently last, should end up 2nd)
Xbox (2nd, a long way from first)
N64 (2nd, a long way from first)

The WiiU has the most announced games, the best price competitiveness and is the successor to the winner of the previous gen. Anyone who predicts anything other than WiiU win had better come up with some damn convincing arguments, and no bullshit about most powerful helping.
