Im going 2 keep my mouth shut until I see what Microsoft brings 2 the table on the 21st.

Seriously, I would be surprised if they actually show some dedication to making games.

I would like to take that bet.  I am pretty sure you will see a strong start from MS for the nextbox.  The key would be will that start continue for the life of the console.  In the last 2 years MS has invested in some gaming studios.  Reason would suggest that if these studios did not show anything on the 360 then they must have something for the nextbox.  I would not be surprised if MS also purchase some IPs from third party developers like Epic to fill out their launch window.

I am glad you are taking the bet  because no one has proven me wrong about Microsoft in the last three years. I have hope, but its not like I dont have a rational guard up in thinking they care about games. I would be happy to be wrong about Microsoft.

I kind of see it a little different.  Bandwidth is always an issue when you try to promote a product.  MS started strong with the 360 but they relied on a lot of 3rd party companies for their exclusives and most of those went multiplat.  There are even rumors of Epic going multiplat with Gears which probably isn't something MS is interested in hearing.  So what do you do when some of your most promising exclusives goes, you start to build your own studios to fill in the gap.  So for the last 3 years this is exactly what MS has done.  Build such studios do take time, resources and the right people.  With these new studios, it coming along at this particular time means MS had to make a decision.  Have those studios produce for the curernt hardware or have them product for your next.  It seems MS decided to go with option 2.
