Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo's Sales Chartz Jan. - Mar. 2013

I think most people are fully aware that the numbers are just estimates. I have, however, noticed an increasing lack of a response to real numbers. We keep looking at numbers we know are undertracked for weeks on end, with new weekly charts. How are we to discuss anything here if we know the numbers are so off? Now we know the numbers in Europe this year for the most part, so they *should* be able to put the remaining numbers where they belong (the "rest of the world" region).

Collect the evidence. Make a thread. Get Brett's attention.

So Nintendo now only released 1 week chart of 2 countries? Why not at least 3 months loke before? It seem next time they will release even less charts with how bad things are going for them.

Wow, I had no idea that the PSP was doing so well in Europe! (I use 'well' as a relative term of course, before someone jumps on that).

But god, the tracking here is appalling for that console. I genuinely thought it was dead in Europe. It's doing better than Wii & Wii-U combined! And raping Vita sales too. Hey, maybe that's the problem... (like DS to 3DS in the USA. No? No :

I'm glad Nintendo releases these charts.

It was worse when they were starting out weekly tracking. There was a grand total of 15-16 PSP being tracked for quite a while.

In comparison with VGC numbers for Q1 2013

7th gen marketshare consoles
  Nintendo VGC
PS3 47,3% 52,2%
360 38,3% 35,0%
Wii 14,3% 12,2%

8th generation handhelds
3DS 79,9% 79,7%
PSV 20,1% 20,3%

My guesses for under/overtracking are:

PS3/360 - ~100-150K undertracked.
3DS - probably spot on
PSP - ~280K-300K undertracked!
Wii/Vita - ~50K-60K undertracked
Wii U - probably spot on
DS - ~20K-30K overtracked

@ Kowenicki

I doubt it. Not unless there were ~2.8M+ PS3s on shelves in late Feb. Though, I guess you could be right if VGC fixes the numbers to reflect Nintendo's before Sony releases their shipment numbers.
