Forums - Gaming - RUMOR GTA 5 PC, Wii U, PS4, 720 versions to be announced on may 18th

Sonic was created by two men actually, and yes, one of them began working at NST last year:

My personal guess is NST has been given the keys to the Donkey Kong Country franchise and are working on DKC for the Wii U. It's a big money franchise for Nintendo, probably in terms of units sold compares quite favorably with the Zelda series.

So much fuss for a Wii U version that'll sell maybe a few hundred thousand tops, lol. What's Black Ops 2 on Wii U at?

Nintendo fans make a big fuss on the internet about having things like Black Ops2, GTA, Assassin's Creed, etc. but don't bother to buy the games when they actually do come out.

Compared to its userbase, its sold just fine. Can't expect millions out of  a sub-3m userbase sir.

What about last gen? COD was among the least popular games on the Wii U. Things that work for PS3/360 owners don't work for Nintendo.

Nst did Ridge racer 64 in 2000 which i loved

In that situation, you're comparing a COD Wii game that is greatly inferior to the PS360 versions. In WiiU that no longer exists and adding in offtv play along with not having to have split screen allows a few reasons to make WiiU's version superior.

Also, selling over 1m each iteration isn't exactly "among the least popular".

I'll be getting this on PC if true :)

Considering the ported mess that was GTA 4, hold off until PC reviews come in of it.

you are wrong, any game in any Nintendo console is automatically inferior and doomed. This is the logic of vgchartz

no, that's just the (lack of) logic of nintendo haters. it's amazing really, for example: any true gamer raised through the 90's and before have always dreamed of motion controls on gaming. then sudenly nintendo delivers it and instead of loving, haters gotta hate.

They are indeed working on the new Mario vs Donkey Kong.   They also handle a lot of other eShop titles and VC work.  Their last big home console retail title was 1080 Avalanche for GC 10 years ago.   I don't think they're set up now for big titles or even ports of big titles.

I think there was a rumour a few months ago that the creator of Sonic had started in NST. Can't remeber if it was fake though. Either way Nintendo needs a studio other than Retro to make western aiming games, so it's really sad if they don't start making bigger games soon. Although their probably "lost."

Odd rumor given that Yuji Naka created Sonic in 1991 and NST wasn't even established until 1998.  I agree they need another western studio.    Every generation, they seem to partner or buy a new studio (Rare, Factor 5, Silicon Knights, Retro, Monolith).  So hopefully that trend continues and they pick up another real soon.

But even with that in mind, I doubt they'd handle a port of a game like GTAV.  That would either be handled internally at Rockstar or farmed out to a major outsourcing studio.

Pet peeve of mine. Yuji Naka is often credited with creating Sonic the Hedgehog. There were three creators of Sonic. Naka was arguably the least important of the three. He was the lead programmer. Naota Oshima was Sonic's character designer and Hirokazu Yasuhara was the gameplay/level designer. Yasuhara is the one that joined NoA.

if this is true then everyone gets to exprience GTA 5 but i wonder if this was the reason for the delay?

It could be, and I hope it is.

If this is the case, I'm bying GTA V for Wii U. Gotta support Nintendo, and I don't want achievements/trophy's for a game like this.

Wait...wasn't the Nintendo fan logic that graphics don't matter and dont affect sales? You know that next gen if the Wii U even gets versions of the game theirs will be inferior as well right? I mean it just wont change, Nintendo is always behind. The only reason they'll get a fair shake is because the current gen consoles are still selling strongly and they'll most likely reveal their next COD at E3.
