Did they fire the wii would like to play marketing team? Cuz if they did they need to re-hire them asap

I don't think they need a marketing team at all. It doesn't take a team of people to figure out how to re-use the exact same strategy that sold 80 million consoles in 4 years.

Seriously, they should just bring back those commercials. Exact same music. Exact same "story." Just with new clips of playing Wii U. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Yep I agree

Where is Don Draper when you need him?

...well, any advertisement is better than what we're getting currently, right?

This, only marginally though.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

This is hilariously pathetic. Are they even trying anymore?

You know, I don't actually mind the third one, and the second one isn't that bad.

It's the first one which is atrocious for me, though. Never air it, Nintendo.

maybe it's juts me but "upgrade to wii u" sounds to me like you can enhance your wii with that and not as if it is a totally new system. i know people also say "upgrade from iphone 2 to 4" or something but i still think it sounds only like an add-on.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I actually think they're a step in the right direction. Don't get me wrong - they're cheesy as hell, and I'm not a bit surprised that people here on the forum don't like them, but they're not intended for us. We all already know what the WiiU is and what it does. They're for the Walmart crowd; the uninformed parents and masses that need to be made aware of:

1. Nintendo has a new, more powerful console

2. Gamepad functionality details

3. Nintendo is unique and does things differently

In that respect I think that these are far better than those holiday abominations that they launched with. Regarding ads that appeal to you and I, that's where commercials for the individual games come in.

Now, if the Wonderful 101/Bayonetta 2/Wind Waker ads follow in the vein of these, then I'll kill myself...

Oh for heaven's sake.

It's one step forward, two steps back. Except they slipped on the second step and fell off a cliff.

I didn't expect them to be able to sell the Wii U, but they don't even try...

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

The 3rd ad is actually decent. The 2nd ad is okay. The 1st ad is horrible and should never air on TV.

I really think they are well done! Liked it.
