I think you have it backwards about fanboys. It's not that they defend their platform of choice. It's that they attack other platforms with hatefull malice. Like yous aid fans like their particular platform(s) so it's reasonable that they will defend them. Even to the bitter end. But fanboys are the ones that will attack untill the bitter end.

I get what you are saying, but if they defend something to the bitter end no matter what, it seems irrational to me. They seem just like the attackers really. I can understand defending the platform that you like to a certain extent, but to do so against even the most logical of reasons/not accepting it just seems like a fanboy to me.

I have to disagree with you.

Take a man and his wife. He loves her but his best friend doesn't. His best friends lists 20 reasons she is annoying. All good reasons. The man defends his wife because he doesn't think she's annoying. She could be annoying to everyone on the planet, but the man isn't irrational for loving his wife just the way she is.

You can't say that someone irrationaly likes something or someone. You can however say that someone irrationaly hates something or someone.

A fan likes what he/she likes and really shouldn't even have to defend his/ personal taste. A fanboy hates and hate is rarely rational.

Hey I like some Sony and MS fans too, just not the REALLY bad ones. Like Baldr, Basil, Kain are nice people.

And I also dislike some Nintendo fans, but I won't name them.

i like you, your really nice and your really sensible. i dont see you flaiming other consoles and you dont relentlessly defend everything nintendo.

I seem to come along very well with most Sony fans. You just have to ignore the trolls and be reasonably friendly with the rest :D

i notice it and am man enough to say that i partook in it

the reason for it was back in 2006-2007 when this site developed it was sales focused only and during that time the ps3 released to what was a disaster. sony fans like myself where interested in sales and wanted to defend are manufacture of choice since it offered us so much entertainment with the ps1 and 2 we needed to team up and form a defense force later the other 2 manufactures fans also followed

i notice it much less on here since 2010 or so though so be grateful your part of this site today cause it was a war zone then, but you never know what will happen and which past forum members will rise up again and become more active later on this year going on to 2014 when all 3 consoles are released
