Hey Capcom next time hire Platinum.

Monster Hunter can't evade Playstation for ever... now is the time, Capcom.
You know, it's funny they say shit like decrease in quality due to outsourcing with a straight face when RE6 is a pile of fucking shit.

Its odd, both Square Enix and Capcom are the two companies who have shunned Vita development when they could have easily used the platform to smooth out sales from their underperforming HD titles, now both have massive restructuring incoming and multiple cancelled games and Square Enix not publishing titles unless its a guaranteed return.

There are worse things to copy than a game that cracked eight digits, and the Japanese take on dark fantasy has been really impressive in Demon's Souls/Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, and Soul Sacrifice. So I can't say I'm opposed. There are still things to like about Capcom, and I can definitely see why a Nintendo fan would consider them an exceptional third party, but to me they seem to be over the hill as a company. The gaps left by the departures of Kamiya, Mikami, and Inafune haven't been filled by anyone. (Inafune in particular felt like a death knell for the company.) Ono is a phenomenally loveable motherfucker, but he's really the only personality they have left. Aside from DuckTales and D&D there's nothing they're releasing this year that I'm really excited about, and their earnings report basically says they intend to focus on games that will allow them to sell tons and tons of (on-disc, I'm sure) DLC. So I think things are going to keep going downhill for them from here. |
So Mega Men gets the last laugh.
Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

O RLY?
They should have listed "trying to pass off Disc Locked Content as Downloadable Content" in their list of failures.

C'mon capcom, vita is waiting for some monster hunter, don't fuck up your own profit source.

That's the observation Nintendo folks make about pretty much every third party.
We all should just acknowledge that none of them have the slightest clue of what they're doing.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Pretty much, it isn't about supporting one hardware over another, the problems companies like Capcom and others are having is they try to compete on too many fronts, leaving them exposed when they have a large budget/marketing for games that don't preform. Literally the only companies that can survive in this type of market is EA, Activision Blizzard and Nintendo based on their big money software franchises.
Companies like Capcom, Square Enix (outside of Japan) and others that have big name titles in Japan which is a smaller market are scrambling to find their own golden gooses that can help them survive as development costs are raised out of control.
