The game didn't do so well because it wasn't so good.
It's a very overestimated game in my opinion.
Didn't sell well enough on 2 consoles that has that demographic....but let's limit it to one console that may or may not have it. Not exactly an intelligent move in my opinion.
Hes not going to like the sales from Bayonetta 2. Beat em ups were built on Nintendo and Sega platforms but evolved into modern hack n slash on the Playstation. Still very smart of Nintendo to pay for it to be made exclusively though.
I just got banned for my Opinion that this game will fail, yet all evidence seem to poin in no other direction. The first one was disappointing so release on a system that has less of an install base and in a market that does not care about the game. Dare I say Genius logic

With the audience of the WiiU and the amount of consoles currently sold I'd say anything above ~150k sales in the first month and 500k LT is a success... |
The audience of wiiu? It's not hitting mainstream anytime soon..Will be a core audience for some time. I've never met a casual who's heard of it.

Even worse than Bayonetta sales. That game has no hope of a sequel unless someone goes out of their to pay Segas tab on the publishing.
No game ever sold what Platinum wanted lol lol lol
Rising proved to be a flop too even with the Metal Gear name.
I'm confused, according to Vgchartz Bayonetta sold 1.8-2 mil copies. Are those figures wrong because Platinum Games have quoted a figure of about 1 mil?
Anyway I think going with Nintendo was a mistake. But Bayonetta 2 will be amazing, so I'm happy Platinum Games managed to get funding for the title. Looking forward to what they have up their sleeve. Their one of the best developers in the world.
