Actually all those are great in sells and most likely made a ton of profit.

I just get aggravated with people not giving credit where it is due.  If someone doesn't like CoD then that is fine but at least give it credit for what it has done in a very short amount of time.  Im going to say the same thing about the Wii and the games you just mentioned.  They have done well and there is no reason to try and say other wise even if you dont like them.

Eh. I'd still say Mario is more popular to the general public, but CoD just appeals more to the crowd that is willing to go out there and buy videogames.

Well, but not enough for this huge install base and for popular Nintendo exclusive franchises.

In my opinion normal number for console exclusive - above 4m (Gears, Uncharted, Halo, LBP, GoW, Forza, GT, MGS4).
Look and Z:SS - not even 4m, but it is released near the end of console cycle and suppose to be HUGE accordingly to Nintendo auditory. And Metroid numbers - so much shame. Even Hitman and Tomb Raider do better today.
This is all because hardcore audience of Xbox and PS much bigger than Nintendo. Huge game sales on Wii was possible thanks to casual gamers.

Thats why i dont understand people talking about Zelda, Mario Kart or something will save Wii U.

We can only hope that Modern Warfare and Call of Duty will decline massive next gen. Chances are here because

1. Battlefield 4 will steal some of the sales
2. Killzone 4 will steal some of the sales if release this year
3. Sony maybe will not bundle Modern Warfare 4 this year and focus on other games
4. other big game releases ( Grand Theft Auto 5, Metal Gear Solid 5 and so on)
5. it will sell much less on X Box 360 and PS3 because this gen is ending
6. Many gamers will upgrade to an next gen system and will have less money for less games (so there might be a chnace that they only purchase a console with a bundled game and will skipped the next Modern Warfare
7.if one of the next gen consoles flopped

But it also has the chances to become bigger than ever ( and i really fear that this will happen)

1. Sony Bundle Modern Warfare 4 with PS4
2. Microsoft Bundle Modern Warfare 4 with X Box 720
3. next gen engine impresse and gamers will buy the game because of the graphics
4. Big marketing ( almost a sure thing for this franchise)

How you can hate CoD and love Killzone? Basically the same thing, only CoD introduce new things (Past, Modern, Future Time, You can choose path in storyline).

Not really a bad game, but sad to see that their is no variety.

I tell you why i like Killzone ( not loving) and not Call of Duty.

Killzone doesnt release every year ( it doesnt matter if one year a Call of Duty release and the next year Modern Warfare they are more or less the same)
Killzone hasnt the same cheap graphic every year.
Killzone has a better story or at least some likeable charakters
Killzone is not pure michael bay (Effekthascherei)
Killzone doesnt sell over 20 million every year
Killzone improved with each installment ( cant say the same for Call of Duty)

I am not an ego shooter fanatic in fact Killzone is one of the less shooters i like. But between an Call of Duty and Killzone is a large difference quality wise and sale wise. And i personally tend to like having games with quality getting good sales and not games that only kill other game studios because of its dominace.

I think that most off the kids who owned a Wii migrated to the 3ds. That is where Mario sales shine.

I wonder if cod next gen will have similar sales or slowly die off.
