At this point the FPS genre is really starting to bore me about 90% of the games in the genre are starting to pretty much play the same espcially miltary shooters. The 2 next gen shooters we know of battlefield 4 and killzone shadow fall honestly didn't interest me at all they didn't in fact when i saw them i was like seriously more generic shooters. But it wasn't always like this for me if you had ask me what my favorite genre was like 3 years ago i would most likely have said the FPS genre back when the games i mostly played were halo 3, bad company 2, and MW2. But keep in mind i still haven't played far cry 3 and bioshock infinite yet i might pick at least one of them up during the steam summer sale.

I'm afraid I'm a little behind on the most recent shooting games. I haven't yet played Halo 4 or Far Cry 3 or BioShock Infinite.

But I think the genre is doing OK. It's not as good as it was during its peak -- 1997-2004 -- but it's still healthy. The only problem I find is experience-point-based multiplayer, but that looks like it's here to stay.

FPS are fine, its the modern military shooters that bores me.

bioshock was a pretty great FPS that definetly doesn't play likea military FPS.
Halo 4 was a pretty great FPS, that does play like a sci-fi military FPS. 
Far Cry 3 was a pretty great FPS, with very slight RPG elements, that doesn't play like a military FPS.
Deus Ex: HR is my favorite game this gen (granted this one is a hybrid, its a FPS RPG that switches to 3rd person at points, but it still is part FPS).
Dishonored was a FPS, and is awesome, and had other elements, and is one of my favorite games this gen.

There's been plenty of good FPS games imo. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Killzone are all going to be military FPS, with slightly different twists, so if you play too many of one style I can see how they'd start to blend together. But I'm not going to buy battlefield 4 or Killzone SF, because I don't particularly like their predecessors.

Pretty much. While I sometimes purchase FPS games my friends do, I try to stay away from the genre. While I dislike FPS though, I actually enjoy TPS, especially open world ones because usually you have more to do than just shoot constantly. As good as Vanquish is, it's one of my least favorite of what I'd consider a good TPS because of the constant repetition. FPS are constant repetition with a style that I don't prefer, so they're even further down there.

Nope. I'm still having a ton of fun with FPS and have been since the last few years.

I'm waiting for the new Alcatraz zombies DLC to drop next week for Black Ops 2. That's the kind of fun I have when playing FPS. Last year FC3 was a beast and can't wait for Blood dragon.

Far cry 3 is the best in the series.
Halo 4 has the best campaign in the series.
Dishonored was outstanding, just as good as Bioshock.

Games like Halo and Bioshock really still interest me a lot. Having said that the generic military shooters haven't interested me since cod 3. Not kidding.

I still like my FPS once a while. But the modern shooters bores me to hell and they have to go if you ask me...

The last FPS I really enjoyed was Resistance 3. I'm playing Borderlands 2, it has some cool moments. But it doesn't wow me.
