Forums - Nintendo - Story-wise, where does Metroid go from here?

Im also thnking reboot. I think it was a big mistake for the Metroid to be nearly wiped out. You can tell they're trying to undo that with the many federation Metroid breeding projects. Metroids should remain a constant threat in the series. More Space pirate factions as secondary antagonist.

I think they should give the game to Ninja Thoery, what with their superior writing ability that matches shakespear and movies. /sarcasm

Given the response Metroid Blast received on Miiverse, there is definitely demand for a Metroid game...
I still want a Metroid-Dead Space crossover...
Not that it would ever happen...

Have a nice day...

A complete redo of the story.

Like you said; a continuation of her current issues with the GF. I wouldn't want a reboot since most games of this generation have never been a success with reboots in terms of sales. Look at Medal of Honor, Tomb Raider, Nights; Journey into Dreams, Golden Eye, DMC. etc. With the exception of Mortal Kombat, these games might have been successful with reviews, but they failed to meet exceptations with sales.

I'm afraid that if they do make a metroid reboot, it will probably face the same fate. What they can do on one hand in terms of a reboot is give the game a graphics overhaul, with very little change in gameplay if they're going the path of either 2D, FPP, or even the open world type.

Metroid: Zero-er Mission.

Its not the DmC/Tomb Raider style reboot but more of a soft reboot(Sonic Adventure) just done to open up possibilities. Wiping out Metroids and fusion have really limited what can be story wise with the IP.

I know this isn't what certain members want like khuutra. But I'd like it to be more centric on better version Samus than in the other M.

Essentially like Prime, but with more samus. And then build a story around that, which doesn't get in the way.

Other M had the right idea in theory, except for that the story was dumb and too prevelant, and samus was bleh.

Idk what they will do, but i would like them to do something like the new Star Trek movie, where they reboot the series, but do to some crazy black hole, everything changed and therefor Samus isn't guaranteed to live, that was the biggest problem I had with the prime series.

Something...Something...Games...Something

Well there was this mysterious open-ended thing at the end of Prime 3 right, with the green spaceship going after Samus? That ought to be taken somewhere, I'd think.

Also, I don't think they should try to add too much continuity. 99.9% of people wouldn't have the faintest idea about Adam Malkovich, Samus' Chozo past, Federatipn-related stuff and whatnot. Some sort of reboot would make sense.
