Forums - Sony - Fatal Frame to Send Chills on PSN

A bit of lovely, spooky news was revealed via a Playstation Blogcast recently. The spine-chilling survival horror game, Fatal Frame (known as Project Zero in Europe), will be making its way onto the PSN for everybody to face their fears with the Playstation 2 classic.

The first instalment in the Fatal Frame series focuses on the female protagonist of Miku Hinasaki and takes you through four chapters (or “Nights”) of searching for spirits throughout a Haunted Mansion, a perfect setting for a survival horror game. The only weapon in your possession is an old camera.  However, this camera seems to have the supernatural powers of exorcising spirits.

Will you be picking up this classic horror game once it is up on the PSN store? Leave a comment.

I think i'll wait until it costs 5 euros lol with one of those sales PSN often has, unless the game costs 5 euros from the get go. Then again i would have liked an HD Collection more :(

So, this isn't even HD remastered ?

I'll just play it on my old PS2.

Didn't nintendo buy a part of this IP?

Yes they did. But since their share is not that big, they have no say on which consoles the games may be released on.

They own Spirit Camera outright now, and I think they have partial ownership of the Fatal Frame IP in Japan. But Tecmo is still the trademark holder in the US.

Fatal Frame is a fantastic and sadly underappreciated series. They're some of the scariest games around, and one of the last great horror franchises that hasn't sol its soul to the COD crowd.

I'm playing through FF4 with the translation patch right now, it's superb.

Nintendo now owns 50% of the franchise. So nintendo wont allow new releases for a console not made by them.
