That's great. Make sure they try Kingdom Hearts when they are old enough, it absolutely blew me away when I was still a kid (...damn, I just realized how old Kingdom Hearts 1 already is...)

How does not having a TV or game console in my room = super rich?

Not having it in my room was nice because you spent more time with family. Even if you were playing a game, you still had interactions with others (I'm the oldest of 5 kids, so there were people all over). 

Been better to put the Wii in there with a lot of VC content.

I second that! It's really worth it, on a modern TV the picture is night and day. 

OT. Hope they will enjoy it, like me when I had my first chance with hands on it.

It's on the latest firmware, softmodded, updates are blocked to prevent accidental bricking and WiiShop is blocked as well. It has USB Loader installed and all my games are preloaded onto an external HDD w/250GB for games and the other 250GB dedicated to storing all her movies and TV shows, which work thanks to Homebrew Channel and GeeXBox. I also have it modded to enable DVD playback, for when we rent something from Redbox.

Of course, she also has access to Netflix.

You talk about PS2 alot but then change the subject to greatest console of all time.  ME IS CONFUSED.

About the cable problem.  You should be able to get a super cheap (like 1 dollar)  component cable for your PS2 that will drastically enhance the picture.  Even with european TVs and games that almost have not 480p picture  and instead are stuck with 480i most of the time the picture is better than regular RGB scart which itself is a day and night difference when you compare it to shitty  s-vhs/s-video or the even worse composite (yellow red white).

If you force anyone to play with composite you are a very very bad dad LOL. Its not even something I would consider as a replacement for grounding when kids do bullshit!

Congrats. Still thinking about how to best introduce the kids to proper video games. And at what age.

As a parent you no whats best for your kids, when it's crappy outside they can play video games, when it's glorious sunshine kick them into the back garden or take them outdoors for the day, I started gaming pretty young and I love the outdoors :)
