So basically, MS announced that they were bringing WiiConnect 24/7 to the 720, and people are quoting this as a "rumour" that there console will lock you out if you aren't online.

is this for real? i even understand his logic with other !always-on" devices but how the fuck can he act as if only the top places are worth to live in and everyone who lives anywhere else should blame himself?

i mean, yes i'm always online with my xbox 360 which means it's really not a big deal as long as i don't lose my fucking connection which just happens from time to time, i'm already pissed when i am in an online match of halo and lose connection but that's my own problem but i would be really pissed if i couldn't play my singleplayer games then. the rumour says you have three minutes to reconnect which would be enough for me but not sure if other people need longer to reconnect.

bzw his examples are stupid since the vacuum cleaner need energy to run and the mobile phone runs even without connection just not for those things you need a connection for. but if the nextbox needs a connection even for stuff it wouldn't need it for, it's totally different to his examples. why should i need a connection for singleplayer games? i also don't need that on my phone.

If these tweets from Orthy are real, they are absolutely horrible. They do pretty much confirm the "always on" requirement - since he is someone who could - and his tone is terrible for someone in his position. He's downright offensive. Bashing people in small towns, saying "Jesus", everything about it is awful. He should be fired on the spot, not because what he said is so bad, but because saying it publicly is so terribly stupid he should be in charge of anything.

Also, if that Kaz tweet is also real, it's awesome. EDIT: The Kaz account is not real.

Actually it seems about right. Have you forgotten all about Nintendo's extremely successful line of handhelds? Nintendo have also never taken on huge risks or a big loss leading strategy like Sony and Microsoft have. They have a long tradition of running a successful business.

Oh i get it... its gonna be called the Deluxe-box! Cause its gonna be exclusive to those living in large urban areas. :D
