Forums - Gaming - Digital Foundry: Unreal Engine 4 Demo - PS4 vs. PC (Update)

The conclusion is the same I had when I saw both demos together.

Some parts the PC looks way superior... some the PS4 looks superior... it is a complete new demo.

A example of a part that PS4 looks better.

PC

PS4

Where? :) Obviously you can't share only portions of the image. But I searched the images and didn't find anything that looks better on PS4.

? You want more images? PS4 in some part have more details than PC version... the demo is different... of course the lack of SVOGI is more notiaciable but the demo is not all the parts great on PC only... overall the PC had the best version but some parts the PS4 have more detais in the screen and look better.

Where is this better on PS4? Obviosly in the PC image there is something missing in the gate but it looks as if there is just fog hiding it instead of "missing". Textures seem to be a bit sharper with PC image but overall they are really quite similar.

LOL @ arguing of minute details in a still image, Ps4 will look fine, most people won;t have a PC to run it at those settings nor will most developers optimize their games for PC.

This part looks better on PS4... just play both videos at the same time.

And I made a edit in my comment...

"? You want more images? Anyway it is the same conclusion the DF give to you in the article... they agree with me.

"it has extensively retooled certain elements, sometimes giving the impression of increased detail, sometimes falling short."

The demo had up and downs for both plataforms... the PC ups are more noticiable because the lack of SVOGI of PS4 version.

And I didn't expect any game to use SVOGI even on PC.

Sony fanbase on this forum needs to get together and decide which agenda they plan to push with PS4, when it comes to how it compares to PCs.

Will the PS4 have:

1. Awesome performance compared to any PC, thanks to GDDR5 8GB and "direct access" to GPU hardware
2. Awesome performance compared to "average" PCs people use, but not as good as top tier stuff.
3. Awesome value to performance ratio compared to PCs. Smillar PC performance is 2X as much.

I liked the illumination on the PS4 better, but this could be minor differences caused by dynamic lighting (?). Was the weather in the demo dynamic?

HUH? Since when you do order people what to think? The Sony fanbase is the same as any other it has a lareg number of people who all think differently, MS and nintendo is no different would you rather everyone be one hive mind?
As for your points, the PS4 compared to PC argument will change over time, same as Xbox 720, not rocket science.  Also, many simply don;t want the hassle or to play games on PC.

CPU? Really? 8 cores of really slow CPUs (yes, I know, it's APU, but still). 8 GB GDDR5 is nice but there have to be studies on how this turns out to be a real advantage. And again this OS-things... It reads like what has been posted since many weeks and still sounds like parroting.

That's your argument? It sounds like parroting? People say it because it's true, amazing concept.  Windows overhead, drivers, PC's a massively way less efficient, it's why 7 year old hardware can still look good, a 7 year old PC with the same specs would struggle to run minecraft. Again facts are facts.

BSD also has overhead, drivers is true but even with PCs you can code to metal.

Yes, facts are facts. But wrong facts are still wrong.

There isn't a such thing as a "wrong" fact.

I know but I had to find a way to make him understand ;)
