Forums - Gaming - Digital Foundry: Unreal Engine 4 Demo - PS4 vs. PC (Update)

Yeah the problem is a PC that will run it at those settings barely anyone has and won't for awhile..........Not many PC's in the wild have 8 core CPU's 8 GB GDDR5 ram, fast GPU. Not to mention the optimization they can do with a console being a closed system. All this PC talk is moronic and I'm a PC gamer , when Ps4 first launches it will look on par with the best PC's for awhile, a PC with near the same specs is a lot less efficient due to drivers, OS, other processes running. games will look great who cares if you want to spend a lot of money on a PC so it will look a little better?

Sounds like a win for MS ;) there dev-software should be ready quite fast (and will be already, I guess).

Well, ppl like ethomaz (sorry, guy, I know you only quoted the guys from epic) insist that the infiltrator-demo is what we can expect with PS4 while it can't even compete with a one-year old demo of UE4 (which of course also evolved in a year...).

Tahts quite a stretch, EPIC just staed the PS4 is an amazing device, and the coding for it is a dream. That's quite a contrast to that flak Ps3 took from developers. Sony's dev tools are supposed to be some of the easiest around now.

I'm loving the fact that everyone is comparing the PlayStation 4 to a PC is amazing of course the PC would look better But the thing is... it's not like it it's not in reach... I can't wait to have a PS4 in my home cuz I really rather game on a console then a PC anyday lol

Well, that tech demo is still running on a card that's probably 3 times more expensive than the PS4 card.

Doesn't mean the GTX 680 is required for it.

To run unreal 4 on those settings right now an expensive card will be needed..............

So they closed the gap to MS which is good for devs.

There is no Unreal 4, we are talking about Unreal Engine 4. So is the demo available publically and was tested through a testbed thoroughly? Any data you can provide?

CPU? Really? 8 cores of really slow CPUs (yes, I know, it's APU, but still). 8 GB GDDR5 is nice but there have to be studies on how this turns out to be a real advantage. And again this OS-things... It reads like what has been posted since many weeks and still sounds like parroting.

Doesn't mean it isn't. In addition to that, this is not in-game graphics.

that's why it is named a tech-demo, right.
