Don't get me wrong, I also think games are too expensive as a whole, but I find it amusing that people in one of the richest countries of the world complain most about game prices when their prices are among the lowest in the world (prices are considerably higher in Japan, Europe and Oceania).

When I was 14 I couldn't afford many games either, because they were so expensive and the internet (amazon) wasn't there yet to save the day. Kids/adolescents these days have it much better in comparison. Just saying. ;)

But we're straying far from the topic...

On topic:

Atlus probably need to price this a bit higher, because localization also costs a huge heap of money and it's more a niche than mainstream game.

Second point: Not really. It's good that they started working on it earlier and that MAY have costed them, but in terms of the localization process itself there are a lot more things involved than just the time. There are no other games on the 3DS that will have this much content, this much voice acting, and have had a turnaround time this quick.

Now that you added voice-acting into the mix, I can start to see your point. You see, I've never played these games (like I said!) so I didn't really know what all had gone into them. I was just comparing this game to the other 3DS games, which I don't think have passed the 40$ point for non-limited edition titles.

(I was just referring to the DS, not every system, because that would get way too saturated.)

Hey least you got Persona 4 and possibly Persona 5.

I'm aware of the small chances :( Hopefully they'll just divide the franchises between the consoles and release all SMT on 3DS, while leaving all the Persona games on Vita. Would be a fair compromise and would probably be better for the games themselves than forcing multiplat. The devs could focus on the strenghts and unique features of both consoles during development.

Now is the best time in years. I bought Path of Radiance for $22 on Amazon about 3-4 years ago. A full copy goes for $50 easy. Radiant Dawn is even more.

*I normally pay $55-60 per 3ds game, so the price tag is not really an issue here

I think that the price is fair, in Sweden it should be 500kr (76USD), which is how much a Wii game used to cost at launch. If it comes out in Europe during summer, I'll have a hard time deciding between this and Mario & Luigi 4.
