Forums - Gaming - Video compares Wii U and PS3 load times

GE: "Nintendo will be improving the Wii U’s load times in April, including the time it takes to boot out of a game and return to the home menu. The company recently released a video highlighting the improvement, so one Japanese gamer decided to create a video and see how it stacks up to the PlayStation 3."

Great work Nintendo, I'm glad they took this seriously because it was a serious issue for me (I hate waiting after computers).

The PS3 is 0.5 seconds faster. Wii U is doomed confirmed!

Nintendo and PC gamer

Still a bit slower than PS3; embarrassing, but a drastic improvement over what it was.

this is the first update out of 2. next is planned for summer.

Embarassing how? When you think about how simple the XMB is compared to the WiiU menu and that Sony had 7 years to make it as it is today then I dont see how its embarassing at all.

I mean its the first "performance update" for WiiU   so I am happy to see what they were able to do.

The performance Nintendo started with was embarassing this update is not.

So... WiiU on par with current generation, right?

If you're content competing with 6/7 year old units, who am I to disagree? I find the XMB to be incredibly slow, especially in comparison to my laptops.

lol I think the XMB slow and the Wii U before the update was crazy slow... even after the update it is slow.

Slow slow slow... we need better and faster UIs.
