Forums - Gaming - Video compares Wii U and PS3 load times

Lol at people expecting a 8 gen console to be faster than a 7 gen one, it doesn't go that way guys

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

So... WiiU on par with current generation, right?

In terms of loading screens, yes. LOL

This is a pretty good April Fool's video.

Yeah, 8 seconds is terribly slow indeed. Think of everything we could have accomplished if that massive loading time didn't drain our lives away!

Seriously, people... This whole discussion is beyond ridiculous.

They took the slow way to quit a game on the PS3, pressing the home button, then selecting quit game, then yes, all the while pausing a second or two between presses. Why? You could hold down the home button for a few seconds, then select quit and you're done.

I don't know what kind of devil magic that guy has on his PS3. As soon as the Wii U update video was out I tested it against my 360 and PS3. 360 took 11 seconds and PS3 took 12....which means that the Wii U will be faster at 8 seconds. This is only one aspect of the first update as well so who knows what is planned, or how fast it will be. MS's updates to the 360 actually made it slower over time....so this is greatly welcomed.

It doesn't REALLY matter that much considering the only reason I would need to quit out of a game is to start a new one. 8 seconds is plenty of time to get off my ass and get a new disc ready or stand up and stretch before launching an eShop game. I don't really have a problem with load times as they are now, sure they are a little long but it's not hard to have a little patience.

PS3 is faster than U xD

Not really.  The timing in the video in the OP was off that favored the PS3's.  Not saying the Wii U's loading times are amazing.  However, I think another thing people need to wrap their minds around is that April =/= Summer.  There's supposed to be a Summer update too.  There's room for improvement.  How was the PS3 doing in the beginning of its life?
Also, we don't even know if the PS4 will be much better (not going to make a comment either way, but there's really not much to go on).

Personally, I think in time the Wii U's loading times will become significantly better and more stable.
