 Nope, it'll pass, and you're right it woun't double, expect 80 % increases year on year for at least 2 more years, possibly a third, since Wii's curve will likely take longer to flatten out, not to mention PS2 sold aolmost 80% of its consoles after it had gone below $200, meaing Wii could sell around 200 million + if that trend remains after it goes below $200

Many of you guys are underestimating the Wii very badly!!! (you guys will be surprised!)

The Wii wwill possibly be on the market for more than 7 years. (8 and a half a most.)

Also, the Wii has motion controls that the other consoles can't do that makes the gameplay experience more enhancing. At this rate, I could see major endorsements. This will drastically help the Wii's success! (wiifit on Oprah)

PS3 will do impressing numbers. It just won't be as good as its predeccessors.

I find your predictions optimistic, daactualfact. Mostly because no second- or third-place console of any generation has ever done better than around 32 million (which the N64 did). You're essentially predicting a massive shift in how the industry market mechanism works in favor of the "underperformer" consoles. That seems... unlikely.

Yeah PS3 selling 80 million is...well its impossible to be frank, it would take a massive rise in sales this year to even get close, the best PS3 can hope for, and this is being generous is 40 million

You really have to be careful when comparing handhelds to consoles. We all know that handhelds can sell to more than one person in a household, while there's usually only 1 of any given console, so obviously the PSP should do better than the PS3 over a given timespan. The only difference is the market for handhelds is smaller, so they top out sooner.

 DS shows that a Handheld can challenge consoles, having passed the PS2 in certain regions, however it doesn't change my assessment that PS3 will undertrack the PSP

Are you saying the ps3 will sell less than 5 million a year for 8 years (how long it will last) Thats like saying the wii will sell 60 million in its lifetime.
