I agree, people shouldn't be fans.

Being an air conditioning unit is much cooler.

Personally I see fans differenate from fanboys, but that's just how I see it.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Paying a boy to fan you? That is some 1% jazz right there.

Yep, there is a huge difference between a fan and a fanboy.

A fan enjoys what they love and even recommends it to others, but respects other people's right to enjoy what they like. Fans can enjoy any game on any console even if they find more to love on one than another.

Fanboys hate anyone who dares to even moderately criticize their beloved company and wishes death on their rival companies. Fanboys refuse to touch the controller of anything but their console of choice and have nothing but disgust for rival exclusives that they refuse to even try.

Most people are fans. Unfortunately the minority of fanboys scream the loudest so they make regular fans look bad and ruin the fun for all of us.

What I find humoring is that some people enjoy being one.

I just realize something, it must really suck to be a fanboy. Always having to defend a certain console, defend a company even if they screw up big time, and worst of all missing out on the exclusives. Lucky for me, I'm a gamer. Why sell your soul to one company, one console if you can enjoy them all. Though there are people who can't afford all gaming platforms, still doesn't mean you should vow your soul to only one console. Instead of being a sheep to a certain conpany, why not be open minded gamer and choose a game base on your interest instead of a fanboy persuading you. Where's the fun in that.

Go by your own interest.

honestly I'm glad because I'm a Nintendo fanboy.  Getting all the different consoles would be painfully expensive.  However, seeing as how I have the almost no interest in the "hardcore" FPSs that come out, I'm able to just get some of the games I want on PC and then enjoy my Nintendo exclusives as much as I want.  The only downside to being a Nintedo fan is that because I like games that don't have blood, guts or cursing I must be considered kiddy on every forum I go to.

And I'm going by fanboy by the defentintion of owns only one kind of console and refuses to change or get a different one, not one who sits and bashes other consoles on this or any other site.

i don't see anything wrong being a fanboy supporting their choice of platform, but trolling at others ( direct or stealth ) is really unneccesary...

I hate it when my friends label me as a playstation fanboy all because I don't WANT an Xbox 360.they always bring up the 2011 sony hacking and how Sony is in the red. I mean back with the first Xbox they had some underrated stuff like Blinx and Voodoo Vince. oh even Panzer Dragoon.

I play on all platforms, but i like Sony the most, because of how they treat their fanbase. That's why i sold my soul to them and will always be there servant ;o

like the time they got hacked and told it the public days after it actually happened? yeah, they really care a lot.

Yeah, given that both MS and Nintendo have been hacked and said nothing. Not to mention that your credit card information is stored locally on the older 360's (perhaps even newer ones) and can be recovered even after a factory reset, meaning if anybody ever gets physical access (like if you trade your console in) and knows thier stuff they have all your information anyway - which by the way, MS also said nothing about.

As a software developer, I can assure you that companies do not take security serious enough (largely because it's next to impossible and cost prohibitive) and are hacked every day and it is very rare for a public announcement to be made. Sony only did so due to the scale of the breach and in fact, they actually did so in a timely manner and took greater counter measures than most companies would bother to do.

You should probably edit that. Calling people that word is banworthy.

Anyhow...
