Well yes it needs all the GC games to even get to 20m. But those are already a given. What we mean by "needs games" is EITHER third party tier-one treatment, or some breakout mass market games like Wii.

GC type games are NOT mass market.

Well Wii U has mass market games. 2D Mario being the best example and Call of Duty Black OPs 2 being the other. What went wrong?

CoD wasn't tier one treatment because of the late release and lack of online features

I don't know why 2D Mario didn't work.

It was only 1 week late.......if Wii U owners wanted to play the game they would have bought it regardless of what other platforms it was on.

What online features is Black OPs 2 lacking on Wii U?

People have defended the gamecube for ysrs. Problem is.....it just was not a fun system. Sunshine was wiered, luigis mansion was not Mario, metroid invert was a big Nintendo seller, the only zelda that anyone wanted d was made at the end of the systems life.

So many problems and not enough answers. Is the Wii U the gamecube 2? Welll maybe, but we have talked about that a few dozen times here.

I just find it so funny seeing is how GameCube had amazing games IMO.

Sunshine was excellent I loved the concept of the paint and all of that other stuff,Metroid Prime Echoes was also excellent IMO loved it, Luigis Mansion was fun,Pokemon Collesium is my favorite Pokemon console game I never beat XD Gale of Darkness and TP was good.

All in all the GameCube had excellent games it's just that you Nintendo Fans did not support them.

This thread is an absoloute joke with the OP showing way too much fanboyism ( I don't care if it is not a word so shut up!)
OT: Nintendo franchises have gained a ton of popularity since the GC days. Also there was not a single GC game that was easily accessible.

Because the "No games" "excuse" is the truth.

You say GC had Mario? True. Did it have 2D Mario, though? No. You say GC had Pokemon, true. Does "anyone" buy console Pokemon games though? No. You say the GC had several Zelda's. True. Did anyone like most of those Zelda's at first though? No, people ridiculed them (WW for example) because they weren't what they wanted.

There you go, there's your answer.

Pokemon Stadium,Pokemon Stadium 2,and Pokemon Colessium says hi. You guys wanted a new Zelda game if I am correct a change, but when Nintendo changes it you get mad then when Nintendo RE-Announces that they are remaking Wind Waker in HD you guys get excited.

The console itself lacks basic appeal, that's the real issue, not the games. No game will mend that problem.

That's a terrible excuse because the GameCube came in other colors. If you don't like purple go with the Orange,Black, or Silver.

Not to mention If I remember correctly at the time when I got my PS2 bundled with Jak and Daxter and two controller+2 memory cards at $400 the GameCube cost $99. Color means nothing when there are other options.

i think its the wii that sold those a games, not those games that sold the wii, look at at Nsmw, a game that sold 26 million, it sold 1.6 million so far on wiiu, this might one of the biggest drops ever just goes to prove his point and my point.

Fanboy of what? So because Nintendo is my favorite company I can't show any signs of concern?

I think it's past your bed time.

New Super Mario Bros. U has a massive attach ratio though. The reason none of those franchises helped the Gamecube was because they weren't at all accessible. However Some games like Sunshine and Paper Mario 2 were absolutely supperior to their predecessors, and successors.

Imo Mario is not working because of the price point, some people are still willing to buy it but not for 399$. I think NSMB is more of a "2nd flow" kind of game, it works on an enstablished console and if the price is affordable, it doesn't fit wery well as a launch game.

it has a massive attach ratio but not selling the system like a system seller would, COD, halo, GT, wii sports, gears of war, it not carrieing the system like those games would.
