Well Wii U has mass market games. 2D Mario being the best example and Call of Duty Black OPs 2 being the other. What went wrong?

The console itself lacks basic appeal, that's the real issue, not the games. No game will mend that problem.

That's a terrible excuse because the GameCube came in other colors. If you don't like purple go with the Orange,Black, or Silver.
Not to mention If I remember correctly at the time when I got my PS2 bundled with Jak and Daxter and two controller+2 memory cards at $400 the GameCube cost $99. Color means nothing when there are other options.
