Well, I for one welcome all the xbros into the playstation fold.
Just.cannot.be.real

Did you people acutal read the XDK before reply anything, not just XDK,even the thread in here(gaming disscussion) people already pointed out

Or you want that happen so you ignore it?

Umm, exactly which part do you think I'm not reading? That all games require mandatory installs? Do you know how much time it takes to copy a BR to a harddrive? Or howabout that it's always connected to a network? What part am I missing??

It never said no used games

It never said required online

Mandatory install?"An installation system is being designed that will allow gamers to begin playing while the game is being installed on the hard drive rather than waiting until insatallation is complete."

Did i say no used games?
Did I say required online?

Maybe it is you who should worry about reading.

PS: Ok I did miss that part about playing while installing. But hopefully they have some kind of space fix, because that's going to be a shitload of data on teh harddrive.

I said did you people, not only you

I wonder how the 'power always on' will work out. The EU has strict rules about standby usage and stuff. Also what purpose does 'always on' have? 'Always online' is understandable at least!

The Nextbox will most likey have a secondary (arm based) CPU which it switches to when you enter a low power state and should only consume a few watts. 'Always online' probably means that the system will always be connected. So when you turn the thing off, it can still download updates, firmware etc

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

What does always connected mean anyway?

Indeed, the description given is much akin to descriptions of the Wii in 2006.

This is far from "720 will block used games confirmed"

Seems like in the end Micro realized that Blu-ray isn't as unnecessary as they said years back, if the rumors are true.

Bluray was unncessary for the 7th gen. Especially for the price. Not a single PS3 game demonstrated we needed Bluray.

The Bluray hardware is cheap now and next gen games will require more space. Seems like a no brainer now.

This means that u cant take a 720 game to a friends house and play it on his console.
But i think the game will still need to be in the console. Its all about starting the game fazter.but ms will lose lots of gamers iam just sticking with ps4

...It said "during gameplay, games will not use content from optical disc."

It just like 360,but require install this time, when disc checking become part of gameplay?

When optical disc gameplay is not supported, that's saying something.

The signs are there that most likely the nextbox will block used.
