In terms of sales will MH4 do the best lifetime?

as you can see 3DS version for not being the original is catching up to 4th place and could reach it with Japan alone sales Lifetime. The game will get 3rd for sure with the release today of NoA+Europe later this week!

Monster Hunter 4 will beat top 3 with ease but the Question is will it get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd? MH is so much more popular than it was before and now outside of Japan this game is getting known!

So What do you guys think? MH4 for 1st?

I don't see it reaching freedom numbers in Japan. A lot of the fanbase is still on PSP.

Not to mention that people will need to buy a CCP for it, and that might cut off some sales.

Worldwide however, it all depends on how well Capcom can market it to the west. The NA and EU sales jussttt might give it the boost it needs. (Very unlikely though.)

Even without the Circle Pad Pro, it controls way better than the PSP versions. CPP is not necessary.

@OT, it's hard to see it outselling Portable 3rd in Japan, but maybe it can beat Portable 3rd globally if it's localized in the west, since P3 never was. That'll get it to second. It'll be a tough climb to get that high, never mind another half-million to beat Portable 2nd G / Freedom Unite's global figures.

its crazy how MH3U a game that is an upgrade(not original or wat ever you call it) is already at 1.84mil on 3DS and it'll climb barely over 2mil(selling 7-10k per week now) and with the help outside of japan, this game will do 2.5mil minumum. MH4 is bound to do a whole other level compare to MH3U imo. Minumun sales I think will be 4.5mil, I think it has a shot to be #1

I can see it hitting third place pretty easily, but unless it's such an astounding game that it triggers another boom like MHP2G and MHP3 it won't reach that level again.

And I can't believe they still haven't localized MHP3 out of Japan... Heck they're still promoting it in Japan, Capcom just released a P2G+P3 discount bundle.

You dont think third willl be easy to get? MHU3 is 5th for now and will pass the current 3rd place imo. Outside of Japan needs to sell 500-550k just to beat 3rd place(got released today). MH4 will beat MH3U for sure, thats why i said third!!! I just hope MH4 gets release next year same time as now for us

Eh? No I said it would hit third place easily. I meant it won't be competition for the top two unless it turns into another popular trend. P2G and P3 were just abnormalities.

srry srry, my bad!!! I apologize for my blindness lol. The reason why i think it'll be #1 is simply cuz its getting more known outside of japan. Japan can sell 4mil-4.5mil of MH4 but outside of japan can get 500k+. Possibly alot more since by the time everybodyelse gets it 3ds will be up (in terms of hardware sales). Lets see how MH3U does these next 3 months here and Europe. If they sell 500k+ by years end i think its guaranteed over mil for MH4(outside of Japan)

Yeah as others have said, 3-4mil seems most likely the area it'll end up, though it could do more.

And steer clear of COMG when it gets towards the last weeks of pre-orders for the game, TBone. I don't know if you could handle 100 pre-orders in a day or more...
